Monty, after purchasing a super16d motor from BOW I noticed that you wrote the magnet guass readings on the magnets. My question is when you set up a motor do you raise/lower timing depending on the readings. If so is it stronger magnets-lower timing or visa-versa. Does air gap change the way that you would set timing such as with the new RJR fatter arms. Thanks

Rick,
The numbers on BOW motors are not gauss readings, but are the actual readings from my TrikTrax magnet matcher.
In general, higher numbers on the magnets allow you to use higher timing - but only if there is enough power available from the track supply. On weak tracks, weaker magnets run better.
I haven't worked with them yet, but RJR strongly reccommends milder timing and taller gears with their new arms.
