OR2, are you going to show! it would be great if racer's would
start checking in or posting some smack but I've been waiting
for Lee to post the classes. For any of you outa towners this
will be a great event on the MTT. The track is smooth, fast and has great power and pretty easy to learn to drive. I'd love to see some of you East Coast racer's make the trip and I'm sure that I'll get talked into having another pizza/beer night out in my shop.
Any outa towner need a sleeping bag I can hook you up with
a good rate and transportation.

LETS RACE

;) You just never know who may come out of retirement! I can echo Kev's remarks about the track. It's awesome! Smooth, fast and not terribly tough but yet it's very tricky in spots. Can you say "downhill decreasing radius donut"? Eh!

The updated PNW AMCA Rules are updated and online now.

I had some format conversion problems converting from Claris Works to MS Word to HTML formats - kept doing weird things with the outline format.

Here's the link:

2005 PNW AMCA Rules (http://www.oldweirdherald.com/pnwamca/Rules2005.html)

The 2005 American Flat Track Worlds (The Flats) Flier is being updated and will be posted online and printed and distrubuted soon also (similar formatting puzzles as well as schedule & info updates to confirm).

I'll be trying to split shift it on this Saturday - as I'll be running our "Race World Rally Championship" race event during the SuperMall SuperBuys weekend here at Scalextric Race World also on this Saturday.

I plan to get things started here in the AM, then hop on over to Speedshop (only about a mile or 2 away) for the PNW AMCA race. I look forward to seeing my old buddy Herman - but no chance for the Indy Car rematch this weekend, Hermanator, - the Indy cars are not on the normal monthly schedule! :( (and I don't have an Indy car any more :( ).

I hope to be able to race in a few classes then rush back to the Mall to run the main event, then go back in time to marshal the Euro's and join the gang for post-race brew & bench racing.

I'll have my laptop with me to update the series points, if there's room to set it up somewhere.

what is the body of choice for the European Sedan

HRK
03-08-2005, 11:13 PM
The sedan's of choice seem to be the BMW or the Renault Laguna.
Either one works pretty well and are a challenge and half to drive.
Test test test

more AMCA race's to get dialed in before the big show!!
We are still trying to get the details worked out on having a couple races on the Tri-Oval too. Maybe Falcon and GP10's or

some higher caliber stuff!! I've been told that Stahl might bring out the 20 gauge ! but only rumors. Big race this weekend local boys and girls. Its the shoot out between the two above for the WA / OR state champs. And my money is leading to Stahl.
Sorry Brit, but Mikes been logging some laps. Best of luck to all.

Not....
Yet I thinks there will be a challange in the Eurosport. Race 5 in the series will be a nail biter as I promise not to hold back this time in the final heats. Have been just feeling out the competition and thier driving styles.

Herman did you convince Chicki yet into coming here after your challange?

Family stuff prevented me from making it to "The Flats" in time to see the Amateur LMP action Friday night...

But thanks once again to Bill Sherman for posting the race results.

Craig "flyracing" Rieland snaps some pics with his new digital camera, and I copied them onto my laptop. Took me all night to get my network fixed so I could upload the pics, but finally got it... now it won't get online again.

I'll be on dial-up at the track - sharing the shop phone line, but I'll try to get pics uploaded between races.

Wasn't trying to be rude, just pointing out the facts of the low turn-out.

Yes maybe Father's Day had something to do with it. I would never schedule a race on Mother's Day let alone Father's Day.

I think the turnout was low for several reasons. Less racing turnouts around the US, high travel costs, lack of promotion, etc.etc.

Would I be fast enough? Hmmmmm not sure, racing is not my bag anymore, but the last time I raced at the Nats ( Portland 2004 the last time I raced ) I won, so I would think I could fast enough if I wanted to. :)

Besides, how fast can you be not running USRA "Ultimate" bodies?? LOL

You have me confused. You recommend classes with USRA Ulitmates or is it Nats 2006 USRA GT1 bodies but don't race anymore yourself? Tell you what if you make up some nice purdy looking legal GT1 bodies for next Nat's then keep the current rule. Swing OWH viewers some pictures of the two bodies you do have ASAP-- the 088 2k2 Mercedes and the 062 333 GT1. Make em real purdy now.
Theres less than 30 days left for submiting some bodies for approval so carve and mold away. Need some help? You will never know the body rule may stick for years and two bodies selections is a shallow inventory. Who knows after the Euro race all classes may switch to GT1 bodies.

By the way the Flats race was fun and low key which is nice in this day and age. You would have enjoyed it.
