S-C-M,

The JK Scorpion 3 works very well on fast banked tracks. It is very light and will show an advantage over heavier cars on those banked tracks.

The key to their success is to set them up properly. You yeally need to focus on the front guide and front tire heights.

I have yet to find the "perfect" chassis for all types of racing, each has their place and I have not found a lemon in any of them.

Since it is not that expensive to do, I own just about every stamped steel chassis made and enjoy trying to wring the maximum potential out of each one.

If you get a chance, read the How-to articles published on the web and in the slotcar magazines. Or if you get a chance dependant of where you reside, come to a TRRS race or to one of the clinics that will be held at PitStop Raceway in Rochester, NY.
you will learn much there.

Have fun and good luck,

Tom......

You really use those set screw collars? Try use the Champion front axles spacers instead. For fine tuning, you can slip on 3/32" axle spacers behind the flange part.

Burrito,

Yes I do use those collars. The reason is because I can tune the car faster during a race between lane changes if needed. Some racers also solder the front screw to the center section to make adjusting that easier during a race too.

I cannot picture the way you are setting your bite bar up. If you have a photo of one, I would like to see it. Never too old to learn a different way to do things.

First, you slip a front axle spacer in the bite bar hole of the center section as shown, follow by another front axle spacer. I prefer this method over using the set screw collars because they can be banged loose. Unfortunately, I can't get the Scorpion to work as well as the Turbo-flex. When in doubt, stick with a winner. See you at the PCSC next month! :p
