I15 Motor

Hello Monty.

I have a few I15 strap motors with .480 arms. The magnets are short about 2/3s the height of a regular c can magnet. I plan to hone them to accept a .513 x-12 arm.

My question is what should be the timing of the armature for short mags? Does it follow that short mags produces less torque so in effect you will need a low timed arm?

Yes, unless you develop an affinity for 7 tooth pinions! Remember, I15 cars aren't much faster than Boxstocks in a straight line, but at 50 or so grams, they sure do accellerate, stop, and handle better.
