Hello Monty.

I have a few Pro-slot C-cans where my can aligner would only slide halfway and thats it. Should I force it all the way and just risk splitting the can and soldering the side again?

I also have problems with some cans even after I have aligned them, my .530 slug will not fit or slide in between the magnets when inside the can. What should I do about it?

Thanks,

Enrico

Enrico,
One of the nicest things about ProSlot cans is that they DON'T split, even when you hammer the alignment tool in. As I've mentioned before, I beleive in this procedure enough that I risk it even on the Kelly cans, where 20-25% of them DO split. Its a bit extra work, but they solder back together fairly easy.

As for size, if that alignment tool measures .835" across, and you slide it out of the can, you've GOT TO have room for a pair of .150" thick magnets. Use a bright light behind the assembly before gluing to make sure there are no substantial gaps...
