Monty:
Is there an easy way to tell 16D mags from S16D's? I've seen a lot of designations (EPX, DM2, etc.) and colors (Gold dots, blue/white, red/white, etc.) but I'm not sure which is which. Can you recommend one type for 16D's and the other for S16D's based on gauss readings from a Trix Trax meter? Also are there any rules restrictions (USRA, USSCA, etc.) on using one type or the other, any info would be very helpful.
Thanks, Jay

Jay,

Long ago, the 16d mags were thick, but weak. The S16d mags were the thinner, stronger ones.

Today, most makers are using the strongest magnets they can find for all their motors, irrespective of the armature. Since you have the Trik Trax meter, I would reccommend to you that you use your strongest magnets for the Super 16s, and weaker (but still matched!) pairs for the 16d's.

EPX and DM2 magnets seem about the same to me. There are always individual variables. The various color dots are usually some blueprinters idea of what he would like you to use. Break out that meter and find out for yourself!
