Is it possible to take one of your blast relays and put it on a DR30 with a switch to turn it off?

Yes and no. You should be able to unsolder the main white power wire at the circuit board (insulate end). Then solder the skinny wire from the kit directly to the main power contact. Hook up the relay as usual per directions.

You can't use a switch to shut off the relay because you are now using relay as the only way to get to full power. Our controllers are set up so the relay will activate and you will still have the controllers power contacts as a backup. We have discontinued using the relay shut off switch. I found it made little difference in damage to relay contacts since I use a high quality 40 amp version.

I would not worry that the relay is your only full power source. I recommend this hookup in our instructions for retrofitting some controllers with our kit. I have only glanced at that controller a couple times but the hookup I described should work. Post here if it is O.K.
