View Full Version : 4-Peat!
Hello Monty!
I was able to wrap up our major series championship for Boxstock 12 even with one more race to go.
The RTR I got from you won again for the 4th straight time! Best value for money I ever paid for a slotcar. Thank you.
This last race was a cliff hanger with 3 of us having the same number of laps going into the last heat. I was in the white lane and the other two were in the orange and yellow lane. Anyway, I just decided to push the car to its limit for the last heat and came away the winner by 5 laps! Feels good to be the overall champion. Can't wait to defend the title next year. BTW, my son came in 3rd.

Enrico

Enrico,
Congratulations! While I appreciate the kudo's for building the car, the plain truth is that you have worked wonders driving and maintaining it.
Very few racers I know are capable of running four consecutive races on the same body, or capable of going through as many races with no mechanical failures from sheer abuse. I know you weren't alone on the track!
I know I've got a good combination going for spray glue Gr.12, as I also won the SoCal USRA series this year. The difference is that I had a fresh body for every race, and I only won one of the ten races (lotsa seconds, though!).
Keep it up!!!!
Hello Monty.
The 1st 3 races, the car never figured in a serious crash. I also pride myself in being vigilant of crashes up ahead and just push the car to its limit when no other car is near me. But most often I would be happy to just be a few feet behind some of the faster cars and just wait for the right opportunity to pass or for them to commit a mistake. Likewise, the motor was rebuilt 3 times using the same armature which has been trued twice.
Last night was quite different since 2 other cars were quite a bit faster than mine and also, on that rare occasion, I figured in a major crash which punched a big hole on the front part of the body where I lost a few laps to fix it.
That was why on the last four heats, I just let it all hang out and threw caution to the wind just to make up for the lost laps. After the race, I felt really drained and my stomach felt it was in knots from all the tension and pressure. It was the most satisfying win for me ever!
After the race, everybody stayed around and we had little party with food and wine and a lot of bench racing!
BTW, our major series race is always shown on one of our local motoring show called Speedzone and was already interviewed for the win with me holding and showing to the local viewers my winning BOW car!
Best regards,
Enrico
