After over 40 years of doing this I find there are still questions I still need answered.
For years I have thought if I could just find the perfect Arm I would be fine, then I decided if I could find the perfect Setup, then I could test all of my arms in that setup if they didn't run good in that setup, then sell it because it was not good enough. But I went through that process and sold an Arm because it didn't run fast in my perfect setup and the young man that bought it and set a WR, because he matched the arm to the RIGHT SETUP for that arm.
Another example that has added to my rethinking, another young man had 2 arms and 2 setups, both ran identical times which he was not satified with, so he switched the arms and the setups and again they both ran identical times only a tenth faster. So by switching the arms he found the right setup for that arm.
I know a lot of racers who use the the same setup, same chassis and same body to test all of their arms so they have the same set of circumstances to gauge by. I believe that some of them have missles in their discards.
I would like to know if any of you have had similar experiences.
Tony:)

Absolutely correct! My fastest Box-12 arm has "NFG" engraved on it. That's because I tried it a couple of times in different set-ups and it was "No F*cking Good". For some reason, I put it in a different setup and... WaWaWeeWa!

Arms and setups are like shoes and feet. Just because you have a size 10 foot, it doesn't mean that every size 10 shoe will fit properly.

In my experience, abou 90% of G12 arms are "good". The trick is in finding the right setup to put them in.
