ISRA Rules (http://slotcartalk.com/slotcartalk/showthread.php?p=217015#post217015
)

What is the rationale for slot car racing event promoters in the United States of America (USA) referencing the International Slotracing Association (ISRA) acronym in their rules and racing event promotions? I don't understand why and believe that many others don't understand the motivation for this "acronym dropping".

Don't we already have a plethora of rules we can align with without going to the international stage to refer to theirs?
Why must we by using the acronym "ISRA" refer to an association whose rules no one in the USA complies with?

So what is the real reason for using the "ISRA" acronym in the USA for a set of rules that bear little resemblance to their namesake?

It would be more sensible if you refer to a rule and then state the difference or modications from the original ISRA rule. The reason for modifying the rule (rationale) would also be helpful, for example:

max rear tire width updated to .900 inch (rationale: easier way to get more traction)
large approved legal set of high downforce bodies (rationale: higher downforce makes it easier for our drivers)
