Roger what is the number next to each group?

Roger Schmitt
10-02-2010, 11:00 PM
not sure what you mean?

the number after their name is their ISRA number.

for instance. the top two qualifiers are

gilbert/forsyth with greg gilbert having an ISRA rank of 66 because greg gilbert has raced in an ISRA championship and gained points in the last 3 years
johnathon would have had a 239+ number.

Senft/Meharry ISRA rank of 245, senft signed up signed up kinda late and was given the ISRA number 245. Meharry signed up after and had a higher number.

the lower the number the later you qualify.

Any results from 1st race yet Rog, a photo will do........

I combined the 2 webcam feeds and live chat onto 1 page, since a lot of people on the chat were having trouble finding both webcams.

Here's the link:

2010 ISRA Worlds Live Coverage (http://www.oldweirdherald.com/2010_ISRA_Worlds/) - (2 webcams & chat)

Hopefully Roger will have time to post the results of the Production race (once he gets some sleep) - I watched online along with over 125 others and there was a lot of very close & exciting racing! With the live webcam on the track and another on the lap counter, you could really follow the action! And with the live chat, you could root for your favorites and BS with other racers from all over the world during and between the races.

Here's the top 2+ - from memory:

1st - Greg Gilbert / Jonathan Forsyth USA/USA 604 Laps (Group A)
2nd - Vladimr Horky / Antonin Vojtik CZE/CZE 603 Laps (Group B)
3rd - ??????????????????????????? ??????? 600 Laps (Group D or E?)

I watched the C, B, & A races online - and it was VERY close! Others in the chat informed everyone that there had been a 600 lap total in an earlier group, but they didn't recall by who.

Congrats to Greg Gilbert & Jonathan Forsyth for the win - and to Horky & Vojtik for a close 2nd only one lap down! All eyes were on the counter at the end, and the whole crowd cheered and applauded as Greg & Jonathan's car just turned 604 before the power went off - to slip by the Czech teams previous total of 603. It was exciting to watch!

Stay tuned for full results soon...

Thanks for the correction! I had not noticed that the Italian team in the Group A race had also surpassed the 600 lap total from the earlier race!

Congrats to the Italians on a close 3rd! I look forward to seeing the rest of the results!

I must say, those cars were FLYING around that track. I am fortunate to live than a 1/2 mile from the track and stopped by frequently over the weekend. What a sight seeing all those drivers and cars. Even though I am new to the hobby, this has been a lot of fun to watch. Kudos go out to Senft/Meharry. They posted fastest lap in qualifying and a 7th place finish. Congrats also go out to Schmitt/Swanson and Mazur/Michaels. You represented the local track well. Good luck in the upcoming races.

maybe you could use "pipe cleaners"

No reason "pipe cleaners" wouldn't be acceptable, too!

There are lots of people to thank here, so lets get started.

First and foremost my Dad, for all the support he has always given me and for always being there for me. Oh yeah he built 1 hell of a Racecar for me and Greg to race.

Greg a big thanks for being my partner in this race, couldn't have asked for a better partner. Congrats on all your other success throughout the week as well.

Chicky thanks for an awesome tire change, that was the quickest change I had seen by anybody the whole week. We only lost 2 or 3 laps max, you still got the touch;) That could definately have been the differance in winning the race or coming in 2cd.

Howard Smith at 3rd Eye, thanks for the great Fetroller controller I used in this race. I loved the demo, and was so happy when Paul G. had a spare with him, he let me use this week, best controller I have ever used.

Thanks to everyone at Parma for all the support, and the great chassis we had to test and chose from. Steve Keopp I know worked hard on painting all the handout bodies and they turned out very nice.

Thanks to all the racers who made this such a competitive event all week it was really a blast, hope I can make it to Brazil to do it all over again.

And last but not least to Roger and Laura for providing such an awesome facility best I've been in, and the awesome Midwest Monster, the best Flat Track around. You guys hosted an awesome event, thanks so much.

Thanks to all the people mentioned by Jonathan. Especially Steve Forsyth for building the awesome car and paul Cicarello for the incredible tire change.
The majority of the credit for the win goes to Jonathan for his incredible driving. After I dug us a hole in the first heat Jonathan took over and not only erased the deficeit but put us into the lead. Then the pressure was on me for the last two to hold them off. I did. Thank goodness! I would have never gotten over it if I had cracked and lost the race for us.
I knew when I had the idea of asking Jonathan to be my partner for this race I was making a good descision. A couple of people questioned my decision. I just said "Watch".
I like being right!

Video of racer comments and other stuff during the production race. Greg's interview is especially good.
