Itís time for another trip back to where it all began for GRRR. Yep, thatís right, we are headed to The Viper Pit and the excellent hospitality offered by Aaron Scott and his staff up in Thomasville, Georgia.

The date is Saturday, March 26th, 2011 and the venue is The Viper Pit in Thomasville, Georgia.

The time is also here to drive the crazy fast Orange, the full size King and the long, smooth and fantastically fast Engleman that Aaron has installed at The Viper Pit. Itís just one of those experiences that you really need to be able to cross off your Bucket List, so come on out and join us on Saturday, March 26th, 2011.

Hereís the schedule:




The Viper Pit will open at 9:00 AM
Open practice on all tracks until 10:45 AM
Tech for Flexi-GT opens at 10:00 AM Ė First in, qualifies last.
Most Realistic and Best Appearing voting for Flexi-GT
Awards for Most Realistic and Best Appearing
Qualifying for Flexi-GT on the Orange starts at 10:45 AM

Tech for Can-Am opens at end of Flexi-GT race = First in, qualifies last.
Most Realistic and Best Appearing voting for Can-Am
Awards for Most Realistic and Best Appearing
Qualifying for Can-Am on the King starts 45 minutes after the end of the Flexi-GT race

Tech for Formula 1 opens at end of Can-Am race = First in, qualifies last.
Most Realistic and Best Appearing voting for Formula 1
Awards for Most Realistic and Best Appearing
Qualifying for Formula 1 on the Engleman starts 45 minutes after the end of the Can-Am race


The last race at The Viper Pit] we ran this schedule and it gives all the folks that have to travel to make it to the race a bit of time to make the race and get back in order Itís time for another trip back to where it all began for GRRR. Yep, thatís right, we are headed to The Viper Pit and the excellent hospitality offered by Aaron Scott and his staff up in Thomasville.

If you are planning on staying a night, please remember that Aaron Scott has made arrangements for discounted rooms at The Jameson Inn in Thomasville for a $55 a night.

One simply has to call (229) 227-9500 (sorry, this is a local arrangement, no Orbitz, Travelocity here) and mention "The Viper Pit" in order to receive the discount. The number of discounted rooms is limited, so please call and reserve your early.

The $55 per night rate also includes a hot continental breakfast. They have some great Belgian Waffles available as well as coffee, tea, juices, hot and cold cereals and a good selection of donuts, muffins and bagels.

I need to check with Aaron Scott, but I do belive The Viper Pit will open at about noon on Friday, March 25th for some early practice. If it goes as normal, we should be out of there around midnight or so.

If you have never raced at The Viper Pit, please treat yourself to one of the best bargains and most enjoyable times you can have racing slot cars. The raceway owner is a racer and loves slot cars and slot car racers!

BTW, GRRR now is awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place plaques for B and C Mains! Lots of awards, lots of fun and lots of camaraderie!

I'm going to try to make it to this one.
