I am looking for more information on the Super 16-C motor. I have seen charts that include specs. I am looking for reasons why a person might want one.
My observations tell me that the Super 16-C is very close to a group 12 motor in performance. So, why not get a group 12? Or is there a specific reason why people choose a Super 16-C?

I guess if you're just fooling around, the GP12 motor would be the way to go for a little more speed....unfortunately that will come along with a higher price tag as well.
If you're entering regulated races however, some classes will require the use of the Super 16D or whatever else is applicable to that class.
Whatever floats your boat I always say.:)

the usra gtp allows s16cs to run as well as s16ds and contenders. I personally don't agree because i think the s16cs have an advantage over the rest of the other styles of motors but one person usually cant change the rules of an organization. But, to answer your question, s16cs can be used in some organizations' gtp class.

Aha! I thought it might be something like that. Super 16-C's would clean up against the competition!

You got it, why run a S16C when they are close to a 12 and cost is also about the same?? Makes no sense, to me either. It just splits up the players into yet another small group of mine is bigger than yours.............

USRA Motor Rules For GTP: Super 16D, Contender type,Super Wasp,Super 16C.
While the super 16C will cleanup on a large banked track (King,Engelman). The super Wasp will be hard to beat on a shorter flat track(LTD).
a good 12 is faster on both types of track.

Which of these motors would be the most durable? Sometimes a gp 12 motor runs a little warm in a heavier ( flexi ) car, but definately fast.
Can you use an american arm s16D motor in usra? They are pretty fast , durable and dont seem to get hot in a long race or on a short track.
Super wasp is a great motor, very drivable , a little less power than a 12 but mine seem to last a lot longer. Of course each style track will be different.

My Champion (Proslot) 12's seem every bit as durable as my Champion (Proslot) Super Wasp.
