There used to be some Schematics on the Slotside site for a Zapper, but it was WAY more trouble than it was worth. You really need to consider the potential of a unit such as this, and the danger associated with it. A Magnet Zapper will produce enough voltage to KILL YOU. It can be done, but it is no easy project, and it takes considerable skill with Electrical components to make one that is effective and SAFE TO OPERATE. I would consider a Mini MagBlaster first, to be on the safe side, they are a great unit and priced right.

I agree with Gersty. I'd say unless you have a background in electronics ( preferably enginering ), It would be best to stay away.
Best regards

Gersty said it best, get yourself an Amazing Magblaster II and you will not be disappointed. It will saturate and/or reverse any ceramic magnet in one hit, fits in your box and weighs about 2 pounds.
The plans in here somewhere(OWH) are incomplete and require some specialty parts. AND when you start messing with zappers to handle cobalts you are in very dangerous territory.
I am not an engineer and that is probably why it took so long to perfect a small personal zapper for the racer at an affordable price.

So where in world do you find a Magblaster II to purchase?

PP, any slot car track should be able to order one for you. If there's not a track near you, contact some of the advertisers here on OWH. I'm pretty certain R-Geo Raceway in PA will have one for you. :-)

Thanks for that info on the remag! I checked the site but it didn't say anything about the Magblaster, so I emailed the person you mentioned(Rick). Hope the price is right!.......Gary

One other thing: I have an old unused LaGanke remag, the one that sold for about $6.00 in the '60s.I have not used it and was wondering if anyone else ever has. It seems too small to be powerful enough but maybe I'm wrong?.................Gary

Sorry... I've misplaced the price and other info, but Rick B. should be able to fill you in on that.
(Hey Rick! - email me the info too and I'll add it to the Pitstop - New Products photo gallery page!)

The price is now $289 with slugs for "D" and "C" included, but is on sale till Sept 1st at $249.00. I have a run of coils ordered now and will ship as orders are recieved. Also a track version ( a little larger unit)for continuous use will be out by November. Still will be under 5 pounds abd quite portable................
Thank you Paul. I hope this doesn't overstep plugs? If it is, just remove.

Been using the Magblaster II for a couple of days. Amazing and powerful! Rick is also THE most patient guy I've ever dealt with, as he has really helped and answered every question (no matter how stupid) I threw at him. Thanks, Rick!!.......GS
