Mario - I believe NY is minus - 5 hours behind GMT (Grenich Mean Time). Joe may not have been able to post from the track - probably after he got home. By later this week, we will either have an online laptop or PC hookup at the track, or relay results by phone and post after each race. I'm also setting up a Barnburner Photo Gallery for pictures.

Paul,
i will comming to the worlds with my Girl Frend...woooo. I ordered the ticket yesterday for Wednesday. I hope I have to drive until then my new fresh engines and levers around a new record. I am pleased with seeing already gigantically around you all.

Point you whether there are new and cheaper hotels in port jeff? the price was the night with the last time at 120,-. Property during the contemporary course of Euro to dollar goes that, however, would be cheaper good. Once a question: is there the possibility for Tulsa making with a Tickit with You? I think it is cheaper. In es to Tulsa 950,-$ ,viel a lot times costs ...
Thanks MSP

Mario,

I did some checking, and I found a hotel for you and your girlfriend to stay at when you come to the World's.

It's not exactly The Ritz, but it should save you some money. After all, your girlfriend will understand that you need to spend as little as possible on the room, so that you have more money for slot car motors.... right? :p

Unfortunately, I was not able to find a room that you can both share... you will have to be on two different floors.... but that shouldn't be a problem, as you will probably be at the track most of the time anyway.

Here's a photo: (slow loading....)

(Just wait until you see the hotels in Tulsa! )

Just teasing ya Mario!!!! :D

Patience, gang...

The racing probably went very late into the night Friday night, and Tony H. is racing Pro Gp12 - so the results may not get posted until Sat.

I obviously was not able to make it this time, and I'll be headed off in the AM to race at the PNW AMCA scale race at Speedshop, but I will try to check in the AM before I leave to see if the results are available.

I'm betting that the Pro 12 race is a real "BARNBURNER"!!!!

Congratulations Joe - you won against some pretty darned lofty competition - the best of the best!

I'll bet you're floating on a cloud, and no doubt couldn't wait for the results to get posted.

Much thanks for taking the time to gather & type up the full results, especially after what had to be an exhilerating race!!!

I'm hoping that Tony or Strombecker67, or someone got some good pix that can be posted tomorrow!

Hey Tony - how come you didn't race??? No doubt getting ready for classes to come...

Why is soldering weight to the side rails illegal when soldering weight to the front pans is legal? After all this was a pro race and according to the logic flow on this board, pros are capable of soldering whereas amateurs are not.

Yes, he won his consi and the first heat in the semi he exploded a setup and put himself down about 30 laps after which he drove like a bat out of hell and ended up 8 out of the move up. Bad racing luck. Except fot the the grenade he was running very good. We will try again at the Worlds.

I just talked to Bent Rim, and as we all could guess, all of our on-site reporters have been very busy with racing and thrashing, so the "Almost Live" coverage has gotten a bit behind.

Tony H has been doing a great job with posting results & photos, and Bent says Tony was running pretty ragged from lack of sleep.

Again, I want to thanks Tony Hobart, Joe SSS, Edsel, & Fred da Flash for all the help with getting the race results & photo online to share with all of us here at OWH that wish we could be there.

As of 11 PM Sunday night, here's a couple notes:

Greg Mills set a new World Record lap total, winning Group 27!

Congrats to Greg!!!

They are in the 2nd Consi of Pro Group 7 as of 11 PM (EST), so racing will be running late tonight. There are 22 entries in Group 7.

Tony didn't make the move-up (sorry Tony) - so he's going to help get caught up on posting results. Hopefully, Tony can recruit some help to run lap totals to him for "Almost Live" coverage of the Group 7 Main Event.

Bent Rim was taking a much needed break from race directing, as Andy Wasserman was on hand to help out with running the races while Doug takes a breather.

Thanks guys!

When Tony posted the latest results down below instead of up here, I copied then merged the threads - creating a bazillion dupes and losing all my edits. Argggghhh... :(

Fixing it all now....

Doug,
Thanks for a great weekend of racing. I did not get a chance to say thanks before Kent and I hit the road. It was my first time to Port Jeff. Great facilities and a great program you have put together there. Several of the “locals” were very good about helping me get set up (and giving me much needed driving tips). Also, many thanks to Roman K and our mid atlantic group for all of their help (especially Kently and Harry). I learned much and look forward to the next race.
Thanks

Unless I'm completely missing this one, he is one of the local PJ 'yutes'. Here is a pic of him on the podium in Am G12 the day before (he's the one on the left in the Red Fox shirt). He is a very good driver, and I'm assuming he was driving someone else's program in Open. I also assume he got the memo saying stop trying to perfect the baloney sandwich, and eat steak instead...

Thanks to everyone who still believed I had it!! It sucks to here that your all washed up only because my last few races were not up to par being I have not raced much lately.

Congratulations to:

Joe SSS- You were the man in the Pro Box race. Great job showing the "pros" how it is done. Not too shabby in opens either.

Mongmania- Nice qualifying lap and making the main with the great competition that was there. When you made the first qual lap and they said 1.70 I was like WOW he kept it together and then when you made the second I was like well, that's Larry. LOL!!

multiracer- Nice job in qualifying and making the main also!!!

Chris D- WOW dude. You kicked some serious ***!! Time to give up boxstock???

The Kid- Solid run in 27 you were on it!! Nice run.

MSP-Mario- Thanks for the green body. All my wing car bodies will be that color from now on.:D

it figures too that pinion was the last one i put on before realizing i was using the wrong solder (only use silver bearing solder now) so i wont have that problem anymore.

The Z28 is a performance body that one of the Brazilians designed and David sells.

All I did was cut .040 off the pillow blocks. It started out as a short Beuf.I guess now it's a really short Beuf. : )
