These are only legal for Drag Racing...not for USRA Style Racing.

For Drags...
90 gram cars,RJR Yellow Dots in Koford cans
120+ gram cars,RJR Black Dots in Mura cans

For Outlaw Road Racing...I would try Yellow Dots in Kelly Setups.

i've seen group 20 motors that have them. but why ? what exactly ARE the characteristics that render them more powerful? and WHY are they illegal in USRA?

Hi Richard.

We have an Outlaw box 12 race here where anything goes as far as the motor is concerned. I have been using the pro-slot quad set-up for its top gun motor and the cars just flies! What I noticed with the Pro-slot quad is that the extended magnet tip gives me a lot of torque even if I use a 45 degree arm without sacrificing rpm. And with the quad the motor runs smoother and a lot cooler.

I have also tried the RJR quad and is also as good as the Pro-slot but you have to run it with a bigger airgap or you will end up with too much torque and brakes.

Multi magnet segments gives you more torque that's why they are mandatory in Group 7 wing racing.
