Also to all the racers who competed.. Thank you guys back there for all the updates and results. It's given me something to read after work this weekend. Like others, I wish I could have come to the race but the OWH helped ease the pain.
Again congratulations to Beuf. Good job my friend. I guess that would be an all Koford car.
What a field of racers!! Great week of racing. Safe trips home to all. Pat Ularte

Congratulations to Beuf for an outstanding race. Watching him run 150 laps on orange was just staggering! But all the racers in the main deserve congratulations for making the main... good job guys!

And many thanks to Doug and Erkle and the Port Jeff crew for hosting a great race, as they always do. I hope they take a day or two off! :)

I have some pictures of the Open race that I posted on my web site for anyone who is interested.

I showed up to watch qualifying and saw Doug looking quite refreshed. When I asked him how he felt after almost two weeks of race directing, he told me:
"I got 11 hours of sleep and then got laid. I feel GREAT!"

As I was pitting for Forrest, I can tell you what happened to him. It would probably be easier to tell what didn't.......

Anyway, he bent the $hit out of the chassis, more than once. One of those times, required pulling the car during the heat, so I could get it straight enough that it wasn't bottoming out. He also had to do a mid heat change on the gear. He was using a metal gear, and the ring of teeth broke off the hub. He made it very easy on me pitting the quarter and the semi, but made up for it in the main.

I am deciding now, if I will be coming out to race for the June race. There is an RC race here, the same day. I am leaning towards slots, because there is RC racing a lot more regularly than slots. Trying to talk a friend of mine into coming out to race one motor as well...

Craig,
That is one of the better slot racing items to come along. I saw a few cars on the counter after quarters or semi's that had bent guards. This tells me it was doing its job !

COOL!!!

It's probably bad luck to talk about them--but I have gone through almost 350 of them and have yet to hear of any of them getting caught up in the gear (as a couple of skeptics said they would)--many reported bent but did not lose a gear--a few did lose a tooth (very few)--but MANY have reported that it was the first time they have run a race in a long time where they have not lost teeth/ gears because of crashes--this includes many many top names and a couple previous national and world champions!

Considering they only add .2 tenths of a gram!, they seem to be a fair trade off for a 70/80% reduction of a chance of losing a tooth/gear because of crashes! If it gets bent, just straighten it out to the original position!

I was glueing for two people during the semi-pro race and by time i got to the main i was wipign half the glue off and just re-spudzing. People were deffinitely adding way too much glue out there. I guess same was for the pro race
