Hello Paul.

If you don't have as ultra sonic cleaner, what is the best method to clean an armature?

Put it in a dremel and use scotch brite to clean the stack and shaft. Then spray it with motor spray and redye. That is the safer way of cleaning the arm. An ultrasonic can damage the arm if you leave it in too long.

I use Coleman fuel or kerosene & a toothbrush in a plastic tray to clean my armatures. I usually dunk the car to clean the whole thing. Set it aside for a minute to air dry & oil lightly. Wild, eh?

i usually just throw my whole car into some lighter fluid, not that i clean my cars that often though.
