Very sorry to hear this. I never got up there to race but it was a comfort to know that the place was there. Hope Lee can find something, somewhere.
Thanks for the info. George.

Does all the chatter about ovals and Lee's MTT going into storage mean that he's closed his raceway?
Hope not.

Institute a mandatory turn marshal class before people are allowed to race in their first race, especially for the youngsters. It takes all of about 5 minutes to instruct someone who's never turn...
A little more food for thought, think of some incentive that you can offer to the more experienced racers to help the less experienced. We'd all love to think that we're altruistic but people respond...
If I could toss a small suggestion to Mr. Ratfink, when you have your vote to make any possible changes, ALWAYS leave a beginners class in place, don't let the racers who may have evolved towards...
When one agrees with the argument, one supports the proponent of the argument, when one disagrees, attack the proponent.

Just to be clear, my figure of 200 was for what I would call "high end" wing car racers. Frankly, I doubt that there are even that many but it's a good figure to work from and it helps to illustrate...
I take your point but respectfully disagree. Yes you'd want to limit the possibilities of the wing cars being on the track the same time as the model cars but you certainly wouldn't have to ban them....
If I may, I think one thing missing from this confab is this.
No one, at least to my knowledge, is trying to take anything away from those who like the current racing scene, wing, scale, drag,...
LOL or is that LOL....?
See ya soon Timmy.

Is everything backwards down there?

Ah Daniel, I don't know you but if I may, reasonable, fair and logical don't usually apply when it comes to things like slot car racing rules. Someone always has an axe or in this case, an armature...
As usual, Monty hits the armature right on it's head.
The net result of this little scuffle is gonna be hurt feelings and most likely a couple less racers. Seems like allowing all 3 of the...

Thanks Zip, sorry bout the thread drift.
I can't remember the hot rod guy's names but apparently they're pretty well known down there? They put on a big car show and they've got a website, or...
Glad to hear things are going so well for you Split.
I met a couple of your mates a while back, some guys who run a hotrod website down there in Kiwiland, can't recall their names but they know...
Crikey, does this mean that there may soon be little Splits runnin around Nelson? Will the Split soon be joined?
Kieran, for winning your race, please send me one box of those chocolate biscuits...
Good on ya Kieran.
Is Mr. Split participating in this years festivities?

I know that Dan took some flak from some people during and after the Scale Nats that he hosted a few years ago. And frankly, the raceway wasn't in the greatest condition, but what I remember the most...
Is there anything more hypocritical than someone who won't help complaining about those who do?
Anyone ever ask any of the volunteers that run the organisation, that some of you can't even be...
Please don't feed the delusional trolls. It only encourages them.

Roman,
You make an excellent point, so tell me this, what's a better way to achieve things, to imply that the powers that be are delinquent in their duties or to ask if there is something that can...
