    magnet testing

Whats a good way of testing the strengh of the magnets in the cars.I'm trying to get all cars to have the same magnetic downforce to make them more equal.Having the same size magnets doesn't always work because some cars sit higher above the rails than others.Does anyone know a good way technique to use or any available measuring gauges to use.Any input would be great. Thanks

you do realize that it really doesnt matter right? it even says it works on 1/24. What are the width of the cars you plan on using?

    1/24

Sorry you didn't mention that in your first post and when someone talks magnets it is 1/32 most of the time since most 1/24 cars from OWH talk about commercial tracks and they don't use magnets. I work at a Hobby Town and we just got a Magnet Marshal in to and I can try a 1/24 car on it but I think it will work the cars is just longer and wider.

    DOWNFORCE SCALE

That Magnetmarshal is cool but you could build one also. In Robert Schleicher's book Slot Car Bible he shows how to build a downforce scale. It probably isn't as accurate as the Magnetmarshal but a lot cheaper I am sure plus you can make it.
