    Wennie's All of you

How about some names. Unless your willing to put names to you're complaints they are about as usefull as a screen door on a submarine. We need names so we know who to keep an eye on at the races if we come up against them. I thaught I saw some of what was going on but since it was not my race I stayed out of it and I was not paying attention enough to see who was driving what car other than the ones I was specificaly watching.

No Alex - we do NOT need to name names.

Accusations without proof can be interpreted as slander (or is it libel?)... at any rate, it's still sour grapes.

If you get a Eurosport car, attend a Eurosport race, and enter... then maybe you can ask Jonathan in private who to watch out for.

I was actually offered to borrow a car to race, but I said I'd probably just get in the way. The reply was "so - I'll give you $25 if you take out Gawronski" - with a big smile. Another racer neaby said "he's only offering you $25??? - Heck, I'm getting $50!" and we all laughed.

Let's all reflect on the GOOD racing, the GREAT friends, and the FUN at the Nats, ok?

If not, then I will start pruning this thread...

    Figures

I thought someone mite bite. And I figured it would be you. I was trying in the politest way I could think of to tell the guys to shut up. I knew nobody would actually upset to political balance and actually name names. And I don't need a euro sport to get these guys to talk to me. How quickly you forget were I am from. I've been racing with a lot of the experts from the northern cali area since I was 13 on a local basis.

Then you shouldn't have to ask Jonathan!

    jonathan vs. slapshot summary

man drama and slotcars,,everything good slotracer
try to avoid. one thing i have seen is everyone
slot racer is good friends but once on thetrack
its is some times a battle and most of the times
two teams will battle it out on the track, thats
    part of racing.
having raced many years now , the politics
have been more and more as the years
go on,thats one reason you've seen a drop in entries.
i was at the race and was part of the conflict
as well, but also was trying to help
keep a level playing ground for all racers
not just trying to favor some.
if those who are reading these threads know
there is history between racers and teams
from the past that have mistreatment or bad
    calls,so is life.
one thing to remember, there just slotcars.
there are hobby, passion, sport, what ever you
    want to call it.

    peace out

    My Perspective

    USRA Racer Dudes,

Looks like some of the younger folks wittnessed some real, old school slot racing like the "Pros" did back in the olden days.

Sure, there was some rubbin'. Sure, some racers took shots at other racers cars. Sure very few racers would let a faster car that wasn't on their "Team" by. Sure, it's all legal as allowed by the rules and when I was the guy complaining everyone, including the USRA officials turned a deaf ear. As a result of the way I was "roughed up" in National Championship races I soon figured out that it would not change.

Gawronski knew I would not let him by because I told him I wouldn't over a month ago. Paul loves racing me wheel to wheel and isnt afraid to rub paint. As we came up on each other he would say "Showtime" and we would go at it till one of us either got by or got nerfed. Yes, we risked our cars to play rough. It was a blast.

Tracy was super fast and I had NO PROBLEMS with his driving. He rear ended my car twice because I was in his way. If I'm in your lane you have the right to torpedo me. It's all part of big time Euro racing in the USA and trust me, Lee Gilbert didn't teach me any of this. It was probably one of those shots that broke my magnets and my response is "I should have driven better and stayed in my own lane".

Paul won fair and square by doing what he does best putting together a great car and driving the wheels off of it. My congratulations to Paul and Brian for handing us our A$$es again this year.

Great job Alicia Gilbert. Give her a couple of years and look out for this young woman. Cart has Catherine Legg and we have Alicia!!!

My point is this, I'm not unhappy, Paul G. is not unhappy, Tracy Chin is not unhappy. We all had a blast!!! Rubbins racin!

The gauntlet was thrown down well in advance and I knew what I was in for. Tracy did jaw with Lee a bit and said something like "Lee, you do know your daugher's in this race"? Tracy and Lee go waaaay back to befor I came back to racing in 97. I will say this, it didn't phase Alicia. Not at all.

It's not one person who was in the "brutal" A main that is complaining. It's just the hangers on and hero worshippers who are taking pleasure in trying to make certain persons look bad.

The only person I have a problem with is the person who brought the flu bug into the raceway. I'm still not over it yet!

Paul, Brian, Tracy, Alicia, Herman and all you other Euro racers.
I for one will be looking forward to battling again next year!!

Paul shook my hand afterwards, as did Tracy, Brian and the lot.
There are no hard feelings amoungst the actual competitors.

If any of you guys out there feel a need to make rules proposals to protect your hero, let me ask you why when I was the guy getting taken out nobody stuck up for me?

    Nats Tech Sheet Mistakes

I want to use this post (my first on OWH) to correct some mistakes on my NATS tech sheet. In my Friday morning stupor, I listed Marc Grassle, who was instrumental in making all those handout motor and gear changes [ending up 6-36, not 6-35] as my chassis builder, it was Frank Sarkela - The same Frank Sarkela that just brought all of us one of the BEST NATS in recent memory.

    Thanks again Frank, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    06 Scale Nats Rohnert Park

Congrats to Chris Jr and Zac Grinstead
I have been racin for 3 years in SOCAL and have got the lucky chance to watch Greg, Radisich, Duran, and Allan Ohren race togther more than once and I will have to agree with Greg, it was one of the worst races i have seen him raced, but when2 motors blow before the race I and I'm sure most of you would be pushing just as hard to beat your arch rival. Other than that I saw also when someone accidentally sucked the body on anothers car that person "accidentally" did it back. But I'm not going to go there.

    Thanks

    Hi All,

just a little note to thank everyone at the USRA nats for making it a great trip.

I was great to see old friends and make new ones.

Special thanks to Frank, for organising the great event, Chris Rad for being top dog (keep up the good work), Bill V ( for teching all week), Monty for the motor loans, Paul C ( for the Parma loan) and Paul G for looking after me.

The racing was hard and close all weekend. the King track stuff killed me. Duran, how do you make em go that fast?

Re the 24euro race. I must have been concentrationg too hard on my race because I didnt hear or see anything. I had a fab dice with Greg G for several laps, eventually battling past. That is what racing is all about. Im sure that Herman and Greg will return stronger next year, as they are both great racers.

I look forward to trying to come again next year.

    Thanks...

for the good thoughts, turned out I did have a bad valve stem, made it home but the tire was flat again in a couple of days. Got it fixed yesterday in fact.

Have to check and see how far it is to Palmyra...might be a nice ride...

Monrovia to Palmyra, according to Mapquest is:

Total Est. Time: 38 hours, 49 minutes

    Total Est. Distance: 2614.47 miles

But if you want to take the scenic route, better get started soon.

    Take extra valve stems....

    Belated Congrats....

I almost forgot to give Duran a pat on the back for his great finish on the road course.

There were some who didn't take him seriously on a track like that but not me. Duran and I raced on it in 99 at the PCSC and were both cutting our teeth on flat tracks at the time. I remember he impressed me at that time, finishing ahead of me in 1/32 Euro.

Great job Duran, I hope you continue down the evil path of flat track racing.
