Looking for a high end wooden slot box

I'm in the market for a wooden slot box to carry wing cars. I've been a little dissapointed in some of the boxes I've seen for sale at the tracks. Can anyone recommend a brand of top quality wooden slot boxes to a relative n00b??

    Thanks!!

Contact either Roger at Chicagoland Raceway or Whitey at Whitey's Slot Car Boxes.

Do a search on either name for contact details.

    Contact markg

    Hello,
Contact markg from Keystone raceway. He carries GREAT slot boxes manufactured by a local craftsman. These are some of the finest boxes I have seen.

    Hope this helps,
    Bob

    Here on the west side....

...folks really seem to go for WHITEY'S SLOT BOXES. I can tell you that I have one and love it.

Check out the thread in the Classifieds Section here (about page 3) called "Slot Car Boxes" for more kudos.

    box

I think Whiteys is the only way to go. He has done 2 for me, and some of my friends got from Dennis. They are first class, and so is the guy making them.

I have a WhoDat Slot box and I carry them in my store. They look great and are heavy duty. He will also do custom boxes, give him plans or an idea and he will bill it.

    Slot Boxes

Now that I am recently retired and a woodworker I am building wood tracks and slot boxes for those who want them. Here is a small one I just built for myself.

Here is an old one that has seen some use.

And here is one that is unfinished. The new owner laminated the outside and it looks great!

I can build to any size and specification. Each box is built to order. After seeing some of the humongous boxes at the local commercial track, I now have one in the works with casters and a retractable handle so it can be transported like luggage. If anyone is interested in a quality box, shoot me an email at:

Inexpensive boxes on JK web site

Take a look at JK Products web site and look at the 3 different size boxes that he has for sale there. I just ordered and received by boxes and was really pleased. They are well constructed and worth the money and shipping is near to nothing!
They have blemishes ( glue showing on th lamination etc.) but well worth the money!!!!

I would echo pickup63chevy's comments on the JK Boxes.

I ordered the "B" box Friday afternoon. The box was delivered today!!

Although it does have some blemishes and touch-up marks, the construction is fine, and well worth it at less than $160, including shipping!

Hey, I'll bang it up the first time I go to a race anyway...

    Thanks Jerry at JK!
