Kevin, if you, Dan or Jay want to come I have 3 cars with RVW motors that are great that you guys can use. I have not been there on Tuesdays lately.(with work ect) but have been running Franks Saturday program with large field of racers. Dave.

    Fabulous!!

    Jay,

Sorry I'll miss you guys fir the first week! See my note above about set-up. Suggest getting your rhythm down on one of the center lanes, then practicing a lot on black.

Bill usually gets there early. He can help you with car set-up. Obviously, Frank as well.

I'll see you there hopefully in 2 weeks!

    RVW

RVW isn't he that wrestler on ECW. Don't be surprized if you see a group from Erie PA show up on a Tuesday night to race 12's

Well, I missed the big race, and all I've got is a fax. There are some accompanying notes, but they didn't make it through the fax legibly. Pretty clear though that they had a great turnout, and also that they weren't going very fast. Also unlikely that Danny was doing any dances this week. I'll write more about this when I find out the details (or maybe Bill, Kevin, or Jay will chime in).

DOES FRANK PLAN ON FIXING THE TRACK ANY TIME IN THE NEXT YEAR? EVERY ONE TALKS ABOUT HOW 1 LANE ON A TRACK IS SLOWER THAN THE OTHERS BUT YOU COULD DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO MAKE IT A RACEABLE LANE. MOST KINGS HAVE A SOME WHAT SLOWER LANE BUT NEVER BEEN ON ANY OTHER KING WITH A SLOW BLK LANE. I KNOW HE WOULD NEED SOME LOCAL HELP TO DO IT. I WILL TRY TO MAKE IT TO SOME RACES
2nd place is the first looser!

    :-)

For those of you who don't know him, x12 guy is a very fast scale racer named Jesse F, a good friend of mine.

    Jesse,

The King track at Rt 93 is an original American King track. It's in great shape, I think, but it's roughly twice your age. It is true that black is a bitch on that track, but I doubt that much should be done about it.

Actually, when the Slotshop closed and I started racing at Rt 93, it was the smoothest, fastest track I'd seen. Black is easier to drive at Rt 93 than any lane was at the Slotshop. (And I very much miss the Slotshop!) I really like the old tracks, and I'm glad that there are a few still around.

What I'd really like is for you, and Kevin, and Jay to join us regularly on Tuesdays. I have trouble beating any of you three on the UK Black, but I have a feeling that I'd do just fine against you on the Rt 93 King track!

Everybody must have known that I was coming back last night, because not so many people showed up. One racer even got lost in traffic. (Rte 93 Raceway is not exactly hard to find, it's on Route 93.) (Dave, you'll want to make a note of that.)

Nevertheless, really fun racing, really close. We went into the last heat with the top 3 racers separated by about 12 feet.

On 77N there was a wreck and I left at 6:50 PM and at 7:30 PM I had only made it 3 miles. Only my luck.

Well, this internet thing must really work, because when I got to my monthly race last week, my good (but physically distant) friends Tom and Jeff Lauterbach brought me a new Box 12 to try. Said they were tired of seeing me get my butt kicked at Rte 93. Couple of points here: all of my cars have one thing in common: their driver is really bad. Secondly, neither of them seem to be quite as concerned when they're doing the butt kicking.

However, I do have to say that that car is the best handling wing car I ever drove. Unfortunately, I'd rushed to the track after working for 12 hrs, so I was toast. But at least I got my butt kicked while driving a very fast car. Thanks so much guys!! On a better day I'm thinking that I'll be able to make the podium now (?!).

As usual, really fun racing, again really close. Dave L found the track this week. Also Bill Fulmer tried to bribe the race director again (this time with chocolate cherries). Didn't work tho, so he had to go out and actually run fast, which he did, winning over Joe T by about a section. Frank went into the last heat tied with Joe and Bill, but he choked.

It was a strange race: Debbi, the race director, got more chocolate cherries from Bill F, but for some reason he didn't place well. Frank won, and while he is the track owner, he never has it easy with the race director at all. Hard to know what happened there.

Joe T had another great run, and I finally got my (really very quick) loaner car (see last week) to put down some laps. Thanks so much to Tom and Jeff Lauterbach for the car!! Ron and Dave are adjusting very quickly to wing car racing, so I fear my days on the podium are numbered.

Speaking of podium, Dave Ronsky is currently AWOL, hopefully he'll make it back soon. And Danny's now been gone for 2 straight weeks. Frank says he's working, but somehow Danny missing a slotcar race for work is hard to picture.

Tonight was a great race. Full moon, loud blues music, and the whine of the 12 motors. Great racing, and lots of laughs!

The corruption is creeping back in, but we live in Ohio, so that's OK. Bill brought more candy. Didn't work for the second week in a row. But now Danny's threatening to take our race director, Debbi, shopping for jewelry for Christmas. She wants a tennis bracelet. Happily, I don't even know what that is.

Had a new racer tonight, Brad Bowers. Real nice guy! Would sure like to see more of you! Come on down!!

Big turn out tonight. Even more laughs than usual. The best part was the smile on Kenny's face when he walled his dad (Danny) in the donut. It's nice to know that a) all that genetics stuff is really true and b) that we're offering such good clean family fun.

Speaking of families: All of you Rte 93 racers please remember to bring down either a toy or some money to donate to the Rte 93 Toys for Tots campaign. Toys for Tots is a good program and we should all be supporting it anyway. It's great to see this happening directly through the raceway. Thanks, Debbi and Frank!

Back on the corruption front, the chocolate cherries are really not working for Bill. I'm thinking he needs to change to licorice. And Danny doesn't have it easy either, seems that Debbi is threatening to donate Danny's new controller to Toys for Tots unless the tennis bracelet shows up soon. And Frank's success is getting harder and harder to explain. He's been working on cutting costs to make his business more profitable, so last nite he showed up with a car with about 1/8" of very old braid and only 2 body pins, 1 for the front, 1 for the back.

2 new racers, the aforementioned genetically gifted Kenny S, and Dan. Would sure like to see more of you! Come on down!! We're having a great time! Weekly racing does not get much more laid back or more fun than this.
