Well it been about a month but I received some information from Reggie Coram regarding the bodies used by him and others:

Warm-up: Reggie finished 4th using his Lotus.

27 Light: Les won using a Supra, Jim Lange ran a GTO, and Reggie a Lotus.

OMO: Reggie won his main using a GTO.

PRO 27: Reggie ran a Supra.

G7: Daytona's, Supra's, and GTO's were spread amongst various racers.

For us Buena Park racers Chris has his bodies in stock.

It also seems that the Nats racers will be able to buy Braid, Tires (yes another Manufacturer/option), guide nuts, and other Pro-Product items.

Anyone else have some Worlds TECH data to share?

My $92.00 PK arm went 12 laps in OMO before shorting. Add in the entry fee and they were world record expensive laps !

I know this is not the right thread, but laminations lifted on 5 PK arms that I used at the Shoot-out causing the mills to be unusable. I know for a fact this happened to others as well. It seems the steel in these arms can't handle 14.2 volts on the newer Gerding kings for very long. With the latest super-kings and their awesome power, the landscape of technology is starting to change again in the world of wing-car racing. Arm selection for opens should make for an interesting discussion at the Nats ................. Kev ;-)

Unless I am very much mistaken, Dan Miller will have this problem very much under control in the very near future. It only seems to be an issue on these ultra-fast tracks, where the motors are spinning at much higher sustained rpm than we have seen before.

This can only be a temporary glitch. The demands of the Gerding Tracks are something that we have not experienced before, and armatures are not the only thing that have been pushed past their limits. For example, we've discovered that Giant Hub wheels are the way to go, but the Koford wheels have had their fair share of failures. (That didn't stop them winning, though! We can't really complain about a product that made us all go faster, and produced some truly great results). Carlos has found a way to address those new tyre issues, and doubtless the armature issues will be solved in a similarly effective fashion.

Point well taken Tim and I agree with you 100%. Right now we are pushing the edge on some of the products we use, but if we don't do that we will never really know how far we can go. From what I have seen, most peeps in the slot car world are thinkers and doers ......... and most issues we are facing today with product will be resolved .................. ;-)

I ran a Boola Wedge -.015, Parma Demon Body, ACE 18 Mag, PK Arm, and Jet Wonder Rubber to win my main @ the Worlds.

I ran a Slick 7 Wedge, Koford Peugot Body, VOKI 8 mag setup, Koford 84 1/2 arm, and Jet Giant Hubs to finish in the top 10 of OMO, and I'm damn proud of it.

I could have done more laps, but I'm crap.

I was pitting with PA, and I recall that he smoked one PK arm only. I've got a vague recollection that this particular blow-up involved a dropped magnet, but I could be wrong. For sure, he did not smoke " a few".

I was just going off of what I heard, that's why I said "I think...", didn't mean to offend anyone.

Tim is correct as PA told me he smoked only one armature and lost a magnet segment in another motor.
