Thumbs up Congratulations to my friends

Ron Southern and Herman James, two great guys, two great car builders, two incredible racers. I think we all felt the heartbreak of Jerry Herbert though, a very nice young man who came from far away. His car was probably able to run 4.0s during the race. But, he had a smile on his face by the end of the race, a good sportsman. This race ended the flat track portion of this year's Nats. I heard a lot of good positive comments on the Gerding-built Testarossa which has proven to be a world class race track, but user friendly for the weekly racing bunch. Congratulations also to track owner Frank Sarkela whose motor building skills were clearly displayed in the C Can racing this week.

    What happened to Jerry??

A bit more "race coverage" wouldn't go amiss

    The Race Results

will be posted soon, I'm sure, but in answer to your question about Jerry, Zip, during the 2 minute warm up before the green flag dropped, another racer was putting his car on the track on the straightaway and Jerry ran into it somehow and damaged his gear. I think his gear went out after only a few laps, it's hard for me to remember because I was starting on white. By the way, I ended up 7th.....my Contender turned into a Falcon 7....one of those races you can't wait to end. But Jerry's car was an absolute missle, I just hate to see stuff like that happen to other people!

Near the end of the 2 minute warm up session someone picked up their car from a lane inside of the orange lane, which was where I started, and their car was accidentally dropped on the orange lane and my car went flying down the track and i think it ended up hitting the wall of the building. I straightened it out but didn't know the motor was out because it still spun, and i think when the green flag fell i made it down the front straight and the motor fell out. After some encouragement to rejoin the race I came back in about 20 laps down and then the motor fell out again (due to a poor, quickie solder job) and i just decided to put the car away instead of ruining and awesome car trying to make up laps.

Accidents happen...what more can you say. There is always next year.

    Thanks Jerry,

I was a little vague on the details of how your car met the other car....might have had something to do with warming up my tires....

Hey Zip, we're getting some race coverage now....right from the drivers!!! Yeah I know, it would be nice to get some results more than the top three, and maybe even a little commentary. Patience....patience.....patience

Congratulations Herman, you were so fast we never saw you...

Ron, great race. I threw everything I had at you and it wasn't enough. It was fun racing side by side with you in LMP and in Eurosport, some of the best and cleanest racing I was in all week.

    Chris.
If I'm racing it it probably came from or was built by:
    Best 'O' The West - B Slotcar - R-Geo Products - Cars by Crash - BOW Cobalt - 3rd Eye Technology

Yes, it's my slotcar site, and I know it needs updating. 1 Lap Short
