The one in the front is brake.
Middle one is curve/sloope (don't know how to explain in English)
The rear one is "choke". (voltage).

Does this one use "fet" type brakes?
How many bands does it have?
Has anyone killed any yet, and if so what kinda pita was it to get repaired?

After doing more research I see that it is a transister type controller.

Yes, both Pro-2 and Pro-3s are transistor controllers
The choke is a voltage choke. Most of us use this together with a separate resistor choke. They work well together.
The brakes are standard, but that brake pot is the best brake pot I know of, same as on the better Difalcos. Carsteen and Third Eye both offer FET brakes. Difalco offers brake relays.
Don't know how many bands, but they are sufficient. Pro-2, Pro-3, and now also Pro-4 controllers are used by many of the best flat track drivers in the world. All have the same number of bands.

They are. Contact Roger at mid-America. You'd be looking for a Czech Pro-3. Pro-2s are only available used. Pro-4s aren't for sale. (Those are the ones that the Czech flat track racers use currently.)

I bought one from Roger Schmitt and have been using it for SCRRA retro racing. I like it so much that I will probably another controller. I was told that you can use it for HO racing, scale racing and wing car racing. I am going to run my G7 opens with this controller. The controller is expensive but, G7 racing is much more expensive.
