Wow, that's a pretty good video, I have a lot of friends who have never seen this hobby I spend so much time on, it would be perfect to forward to them. On the tech sheets, a number of us were discussing how we don't see photos of winning cars (body off) any more. I remember 10-15 years ago that was the standard for Slotcar Bulletin. The race reporting you've done, MG, is totally outstanding and FAST! I mention the lack of tech photos and information not as a criticism of the NAM reporting, but I and many others would like to see a return to this practice. Many, many thanks to Andy Wasserman, what a great race director. Regor and Laura, you two make all this possible by running Mid America. And yes, it is a premier facility folks. I even had a blast on the Corner Climb, a little respite from flat tracking. Thanks again to MG Brown for his coverage of the event. Finally, all you racers are really a good group of people to be around. Herman and I were discussing this on the plane on the way home and we all have the common thread of being technically minded, and we are all craftsmen. Crafting something is for our generation and will inevitably disappear. That's why I encourage everybody to keep working at their craft, keep thinking, and keep showing up at events at ANY track. One magic moment.
I had to wonder about 15 seconds in to the video you hear a very loud "wack" noise like a gunshot as George on blue lane finds the wall and the greif look on his face as the marshal put him back on.

Most of the tech sheets that I saw just had a first name and something like "see roger" for the rest! Some were actually filled out, though! Special thanks for MG Brown for all of his hard work throughout the weekend. I beleive I caught the flu that Mike Stahl brought into the raceway. Who else did !? It's most enjoyable!! Thanks, Mike!

Andy, I just got a cold during the weekend, back at work today and it really isn't bad, no fever or anything. This is my first year that I got a flu shot and so far it has held the flu at bay. Hey Raymond, thanks for that link to MG's gallery, great photos MG! I don't remember any bad wall shots during the eurosport race, but any frustration was from my sad driving and how many times I came off. On white and red I had only 57 laps per heat. I had 63 on black! I self destructed in the 90 on white and red, kept Laura real busy. It was pretty frustrating having the TQ and ending up 6th, but I saw that second through sixth were only separated by five laps, so at least it wasn't an embarrassing gap. But guess what, I had a whole lot of fun anyway, I'm proud of the TQ, and love the eurosports Lee Gilbert builds. Just need to practice white and red next time!

Caught something Friday-Saturday, which started on Sunday afternoon with the chills, aches, and usual crabbiness all during a family get together. Now most of them want to "KEEL" me. My fondest memory of the weekend.

A real good "tummy tamer" that cures most ills is equal quantities of brandy and port - an old wives tales but it does work

This is the same car that I ran at the ISRA 2008 Worlds with no change but for the body.

Body off shots should be taken like this one, directly over the car with all the parts in focus. Angled posed shots just hide what racers want to see.

I should have rebuilt it since it ran short on motor brushes in the 5th heat at the 2009 Mid-America Masters. Ran one pair of braid the same pair that I used in qualifying.

Note the modified bat pans. Copied from a picture I saw of one of Horky's cars.
