Guess so. First and only 24.5 wire arm I've ever done. Won't be the last!
Sure hope I can get George to try some too, obviously knows his way around a Euro car!
A clean slotcar is a happy slotcar!!

these guys must be laying down the glue pretty heavy....lol.... My Barn Burner cars are cleaner. Who says that glue racing is messy....lol. never thought a scale car would pick up that much tire dung.

Great run George!!! You've put in a lot of work, you deserve it!!!
Another fast, furious and very tough race.
The qualifying times were because the track slimed up, and we were all skating around on yellow lane. We were allowed to qualify on any lane we liked, but everyone ran on yellow, as sweeping off another lane would have meant you would have been even slower. All week for whatever reason the track would get very loose if you left it for any period of time. You could be practicing on a lane, go to your pit for a few minutes come back, and the lane was different. The same was true in the races, you never quite knew what the next lane had in store for you. There were a few people going 3.8's in practice and even a 3.6 was rumored to have been run... so qualifying was a bit of a let down.
Congrats George, I tried to run you down in the last heat, but I knew you had enough in reserve to hold me off, so there was no point. Bad luck Herman, without your troubles I think it would have been really close.
Thanks to Brian Saunders for yet another great 24th chassis. Like the 32nd car it was good as soon as it hit the track, and just got better and better. As usual the car was very very easy on it's tires, as I ran all 40 minutes on one set, and only went into tech at about .036 clearance. After the semi I planned on one tire change after red lane, but it wasn't necessary.
Monty, awesome arm. A .490 84 1/2 arm was probably way too much horsepower when most seemed to be running 20 plus of 25, but with the relay turned off it was just killer in the Fred Hood built (single mag) Camen small block setup. Just like the C Can arms, bigger looks like it just might be better as it was so smooth and spun up and stayed there. I ran the same motor in the B semi, and took a gamble on changing out the front brush before the A main. A big gamble but it paid off as the brush came in in the second heat, and the motor was right back to where it had been in the B semi. Not bad for a brand new arm with no running beforehand and not even a com true after practice, 72 minutes with 3 brushes used. This is the first Nats podium for a BOW Euro arm, but will not be the last I am sure.
If I'm racing it it probably came from or was built by:
Best 'O' The West - B Slotcar - R-Geo Products - Cars by Crash - BOW Cobalt - 3rd Eye Technology
Yes, it's my slotcar site, and I know it needs updating. 1 Lap Short
Chris,
First and foremost, congratulations on a TERRIFIC podium finish. Well earned and richly deserved!!
I would, however, like to take just slight issue with your statement that:
"Just like the C Can arms, bigger looks like it just might be better"
To this highly biased observer, Herman's car with the radically small "Gulliver" motor looked to be the car to beat - making the top gutters a walk in the park and leading the main up until the incident that took him out.
Clearly the verdict is not yet in but notice was served that the Gullivers mean business...... at least on that track on that day. stay tuned
