Lets see. Some of the 4.5" racers might show. OK, that's good. Several "birds in the bush".
Run IRL and you have more "birds in the hand" as almost all the flat trackers who are there anyway have the cars and will race.

The Indiana Oval series runs 4.5's every month as well...... 10 to 15 entries avg. many of them are expressing interest in attending this years nats to race 4.5's as well as other classes.

How Sweet It Is!!!!!
Since it is the Nats the track owner doesn't have the discretion to add or delete classes from the schedule, the best he could do would be to add JRL/IRL as an exhibition class, but he certainly couldn't unilaterally drop 4.5 Nascar. This has always been the problem with classes that have low attendance, you need a vote to drop the class prospectively.

MON THE BIFF !!!
IRL on the King track would be cool, but wait the decision has already been made to run 4.5's instead. LOL

I like that Ron, better yet with Group 12 Strap motors in them!!! Seriously, I am a huge fan of the 4.5" NASCAR, it is the most awesome slot car I can think of. Except for the fact it is a COT body (that's Clone of Tomorrow), these cars are fast, handle well, and look great. I wished I had spent some time running on Roger's new Gerding King while I was at The ISRA Worlds a few weeks ago, but it looked really good and I just can't wait for the Nats.

Truly GREAT ATTITUDES from fellow scale racers... I'm actually at a loss for words... dead class, clown show.... To each their own I guess.
The series is now called Midwest Slot Car Series and like Ron said we average 10 -15 entries per event.
Our series goes to T/R Motorplex Feb 5th and ALL CLASSES will be running on the KING and it will be a great time to WARM UP up all your cars including your 4.5 NASCAR's................................

4.5 Scale Nascar is the most popular class in the Mid-South USRA, 20-25 entries per race but that reflects we are in Nascar country also. I prefer to run more 4inch stuff, but look at the competitive fields we have, its a really great class. Maybe I'll be able to get 4-5 guys down here to go run Nats.....

Here is the link for the nascar scale 4.5 entries Picture
Can we at least move the 4 1/2" race to the figure 8?

As Emily Latella would say, "Nevermind" .![]()
MON THE BIFF !!!
I really do hope all you 4.5 lovers from around the country show up and prove me wrong! It's a great king track.
I used to enjoy running the class for several years back in LA but finally stopped because maintaining C and D can motor programs became to much work.
Last night I bought a Slick7 Mini Brute motor.
This is listed as the handout motor for amatuer LMP on the king.
I broke it in for about 5 minutes at 4 volts.
Geared it 12/37.
It was so slow I thought I had it running backwards.
It ran like something made for a home track.
Did I gear it wrong?
Did I just get a slow motor?
I know it`s only an $8 motor but it`s pathetic.
I can`t imagine racing something this slow on a King.
Slick 7 currently has 2 different Mini Brute motors. The older hand out motor is sold in packages of 8. The part number is S7-628. The 8 pack retails for $49.95. These motors are more like a Falcon 4, or 5 (slow) The S7-588A is the new one. It has improved magnets, and more RPM than the older ones. The new version is similar to a TSRF motor in that it does not have as much timing as a Falcon-7. You have to gear the newer Slick 7, and the TSRF a bit higher (ratio) than a Falcon-7. Both the TSRF and the new Slick-7 are great motors, just a bit different than the Falcon 7s.
Try 13, or a 14 with a 38, or a 39 spur for a banked track.
Hope this helps.
