    Mike,

I will not be able to make it down tonight, I will get with you tomorrow. Call Charlie need bodies.

    Rich,

I have run a flexi with both Puppy Dog and Big Dog Motors. Awhile ago they decided to allow mini motors in GT-1. Tried they both and both ran well. I then used a Hawk setup with Falcon Neo Magnets and a Big Dog arm. In a race at M&T the car was so fast I was just playing with Rick Sloan. It was then decided after that race to drop GT-1 with those motors.

I know what you mean about throwaway motors. I have a large container full of junk Falcon motors.
Maybe we will have to have a special race like the Frankenmotor race they have out west. To make it interesting we would run inlines.

    See ya at the races,
    Greg

I was trying to simplfy things not add a inline, the midwest series uses falcon 7 the holly series we talked Dennis into using hawk 7 but if we could i would change to the puppy dog for the retro flexi and than we could talk Dennis at Holly series to change to the puppy dog than I won't wind up with a large container of hawk 7 motors
    puppy dog = 41.00+ 1rebuild=15.00 = 56.00 = about 10 races + send back for rebuild and still have a motor
    hawk7+ hawk7 +hawk7+hawk7+hawk7= 60.00 maybe 10 races + a container of full of junk

    Rich,

Sounds good to me. If we can get Dennis to change and Mike to do the same class. That would work out well. Might even get more locals involved in Retro if all they have to do is change bodies to run the series races.

That Frankinmotor deal would be a once a year special race like they have out west, not an added class. Just a chance to let the crazy mad scientist motor builder that lives inside of most of us out for a day.

Has anyone checked to see if Dennis is coming to Skidmarks. I'am sure he would have a good time if he can make it.

We will run the Puppy Dog Motor thing by everyone Sunday.

    See ya at the races.

    Track is ready

    Retro Racers,

Talked to Larry Langdon of Skidmarks Raceway tonight. The track has been cleaned and spray glued. He will be at the track tomorrow at noon or shortly thereafter. Bring a car with you to help run in the lanes.

The Track power has been set at 13.6 volts and with their power that is what your cars will see during the races there will be no drop in power. If needed we will clean the braid before Sundays Race.

With the fresh glue, the track was a little stuck, but Larry reports they ran some 3.8's. He also reported the hawk 7 motor in another car ran good with no heat problems. Retro Flexi racers remember for this race you can run Falcons, Hawk 7's, or Pro Slot sealed Puppy Dogs. Choose wisely.

You do not want to miss this race it should be loads of fun.

    See ya at the races,

    Larry,

    How are you my friend.

It must be karma. I was just thinking of you the other day. We are trying to get this Retro Racing thing going here in Michigan. We were thinking of local racers from back in the day that we thought would love this type of racing if they were still around. I think I heard that you were in Florida. But I had lost track of you until now. If you go to the other blog there are pictures posted from are last race. Take a look if you get a chance and you can see what we are up to.

I hope you are well and are still racing. Retro racing looks like it is going good in Florida. You right 45 years. WOW

Hope you and yours also have have Happy Holidays.

    Hi Greg,
Great to touch bases with you again.! We moved down to Florida in 1998. Had enough of those nasty, long Michigan winters. If we were back up there, we'd sure be interested in the Retro Race'n series.
We are involved in club racing here, and vintage slot collecting / restoration. Sadly there aren't many commercial raceways close to our location. We frequent "The Race Place" over in Daytona Beach most often. But most other raceways are a two hour or more drive away from us, one way.

Back in 2001 we started a local slot club called B.A.R.F. (Basement Auto Racers of Florida). The club races twice a month, on club members tracks, of various configurations. All have computerized timing and scoring. There are currently five member tracks on the clubs rotating schedule in the Ocala area. The cars are mostly 1:32 American oval track cars. Sprint Cars, Late Models, Dirt Modifieds, Street Stocks, etc. The club has it's race results posted on S.C.I. and Home Racing World web sites.

If you ever get headed this way for the events during "Speedweeks". Be sure to pack some slot stuff for the trip. Your always welcome to run with us.! Just drop us a quick note.
Take care, and stay warm up there....
