Shontel, May I be one of the first ones to apologize for things that you may find less than tasteful posted within these pages.

You are truly one of the first ladies of the sport.

With that being said here comes that old addage..................Boys will be boys!

    Merry Christmas to you too!

"Boys will be boys" that made me laugh!!! I know that for sure.

Once, I had an excited father and son come in to rent house cars. After 1/2 hr, the father was ready to book a BD party for his 13 yr old DAUGHTER! I suggessted he bring her in to try it first as she had never seen a slot car. To my suprise, he did bring her in to run a car. While her father and brother drove house cars for 1/2 hr......she spent the 30 min texting and never even looked up at the track. The father thanked me.

Yes, I lost the BD party $$. But the father and son have come back many many times and spent lots of $$.

I'm a girl, I think different from you guys but in the end I love slot cars.

I don't love slot cars. I love a man who loves slots cars.

Mr. Ody - you called me a sham. And instead of insulting you on the public forum I wrote you a message. You old billy goat! So you post my Private Message instead of writing me back? Why would a he-she be on here? Is it teeming with young hot single homosexuals? That just doesn't add up.

I have lived in the Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri. I travel across the country for work. I am gone more than I am home. I spend a lot of time in Illinois with family. I also spend a lot of time in Iowa with family. I work for a company out East. I also date a guy on the coast but he's looking at Chicago. I don't know where I will land, but I suspect Chicago. Should I have put all that in my profile. We both had a financial interest in slot car racing. I think I just lost mine.

I wrote the guy I was inspired by and connected in a way through a common bond we had. Something we both understand. I met some nice guys and I've met some ornery guys on here and don't forget I too have to protect my privacy until I get to know people better. Try being a woman in the internet age! I'm not having any fun since I put up a profile... but I don't want to back down either cause you're dead wrong about me and you LEAPED to conclusions for no reason. You never gave me so much as a breath of a chance.

Along with the 21 votes to ban him, as RVW pointed out, this listing on E-Bay should be enough.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/SLOT-CAR-RETRO-L...item1c18026cc7
Starting bid? $99.95 For a car maybe worth $30-$40.

Check out the other listings, like the wire kit drag car with a S16D for $149.00. I wonder if that comes with a complimentary jar of Vaseline!

The starting bid on apparently the same item as I mentioned in post #54 seems more realistic.
    99
Manta Ray has mentioned his habit of double posting the same item before and "somehow" the auction ending early on the cheaper
    starting bid listing.
    I'm not a big E-Bay watcher but I'm not sure I've ever seen a lower feedback %.
I'm guessing anything lower than 99% officially makes you a huckster.

I also found several of the auctions to range from the "colorful" descriptions of obsolete stuff, to borderline ebay rule benders.

However, in all fairness, I did check into the feedback. There were 2 bad feedback incidents, and both were resolved. One was a Hudy comm truer that the buyer received an empty box. The seller explained that it must have been lost in shipping, and refunded the money.

The second one said the item was not received. The seller refunded the money, then the item was received the next day, and the buyer never re-paid or returned the item.

In these two cases, if I was the seller, I would want these changed to show some sort of resolved or corrected status, since they obviously hurt the feedback % rating.

Other then that... I agree with the sentiments regarding the ebay stuff.

Lincoln: I feel like the man who was tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail. To the man who asked him how he liked it, he said: If it wasnt for the honor of the thing, Id rather walk.
