    Hi George,
James reinforced the cross bar in reaction to Richard himself snapping both ends off of his cross bar in practice at our Nats.
I'm pretty sure the reason the cross bar snapped was because we have been running without the front down stops. I think running with the down stops raised would give the same effect but with the added insurance of helping support the cross bar in an accident.

your one has a reinforced crossbar, but a little more will not hurt
it may need a little weight at the rear of the pans

Thanks Mic, I used the oval up front and see how that works, I like it. Trying it tomorrow at Frank's.

Oh, I see, that's good to get the history of the development. Woody, I'll be testing this tomorrow, it's a really good motor in there, a Camen small block single mags .390T X .330L and a plain vanilla Valiko 23t25....great ES32 mill. I'll post my report.

OK, I'll bring some lead along and see what it does tomorrow...but then again, the Super 8 will be a different track. I showed a picture to Fred and he thought I messed up on the pans because he saw the front stops (the ones that are part of the front wheel mounts) above the pan. At first I thought maybe I hadn't gotten that bit squashed down all the way in the slot, but sure enough, you designed it so it is a bit above the pan, and it looks like that is because the entire pan assembly has a rocking motion, and that is something I have never seen in your chassis before. The testing tomorrow is gonna be very interesting! Herman and I will be at Frank's at 1pm. There's a birthday party at 2-3:30, then we'll glue up the corners with Camen Stick It Red and break in the track for some fast times!!!

Completed final testing yesterday with Hermanator at Slot Car Raceway, Rohnert Park, Calif, site of the 2006, 2008 and 2012 USRA Scale Nats. We're ready for the upcoming ISRA Nats in Philadelphia...in fact, last night I got the slot suitcase out of the attic and started to pack.
I tested the new Mack ES32 and it is quite spectacular. I think the chassis design is really good, it got around our track very fast, down to a 3.80 flat....to run 3.7s is really good, but we were testing on a track that has not been run on very much recently, and there had been a birthday party before us...WhispaJet cars with the big Parma marshmellow tires...not great to run after those things. So, the 3.80s were excellent. I put the new Camen motor in it and you could really push it hard.

So, now it is two days of trying to get through "work" patiently!

I think you might have the wrong videos there , Mike...

That looks more like the Idaho gang packing for the Flats!

In either case - don't forget to pack the monkeys.

Both events should be more fun then... well you know... a barrel of monkeys.

Don't forget to bring the laptop, SR.

I think we can see how quickly this thread could derail to if you don't post updates to keep it on track!
