Where is the list of all the past champions.

And, is there a list for champions other than Opens?

What about a list of champions in each class over the years. Like who won pro Gp 12 in 1995? Mainly division one wing car stuff over the years. I realize I could look through the archives but was wondering if we keep those results as well.

    Does that even exist?

Might have to find some old Slot Car Bulletins/SARNS for that information.

As Chase mentioned above, all you need is someone with a fairly good collection of
    John Ford's and Paul Meier's mags.(not me)

Someone who does should start a thread with what they have
and let other guys fill in any blanks there may be.

That sounds right to me... must have been another copy/paste goof by me. I'll have to change it when I update the list.
Can any other Chicago racer or 96 Nats participant, or anyone with SARN or SCB 96 Nats issue please help to verify???

All my magazines are back in Tacoma in storage.

Archie - I have often wanted to work on more thorough lists with all the classes, and even chart the top 3 or top 8 for each class... but I'm afraid it is an extremely daunting task that requires more time and research then is possible at this time. Even with all the magazines and a ton of time, it can be very difficult to find some of the info.

My plan was to make the charts and fill in the recent info, then fill in the old info as it is found or contributed. Once the chart is made, it would not be too difficult to continually fill in the blanks. That was the plan... but then I have not even managed to update last year's winners yet.

One kinda funny story comes to mind about when I was making the Eurosport Champ list.... I was on the phone with Tom Hansen, asking him about various Nats locations & winners... because his memory is pretty good about these things and he was at several of the Nats in the 80's.

During our conversation, I had the '88 Nats issue of SARN in my hands, that was at my home tracks in Kent/Seattle WA. Tom Hansen was the winner of the 1/32 Eurosport race, which was held at West Seattle Speedway & Hobby, about 30 miles from the King Track at Speedway Too in Kent, where the wing car racing was held. 1/32 Euro was raced on the Hasse Hillclimb track that is now at Fun Time Raceway in Gig Harbor WA.

I couldn't find my name in the race results. It was my favorite class and on my home track that I had probably raced on more then anybody.

"Hey Tom - how come I wasn't in that race?" I asked.

"You idiot! You were the RACE DIRECTOR!!!" was his reply. DOH!!! (senior moment!)

I am thinking, but have to check for sure........ the 1996 Scale Nats at JK.....the Euro 24 and GT 12 was on the MTT and the 1/32 Euro race was on the LTD or another smaller scale track.

    Does this ring a bell???

So for this list to be compiled...... what exactly do you guys want or need? I have all the magazines just need to know what years. classes, etc you guys need/want for the "Master" list.

What I need to do is revise my list page, probably best to use MS Excel like I did on the World Records page. Keeping the basic form in Excel makes it pretty easy to add updates and republish... I just have to keep up with the updates.

I'll use columns for 1st through 8th, and add a row for each class, for each year.

Once I have even the blank form, I'll add a "submit info" link on the bottom, and/or post it in a thread for updates.
At least a blank form will be a starting point.

Since all my magazines are 8,000 miles from here in storage, then any time you (Ron) or anyone else has time or stumbles across some more missing info, you can simply post or submit it to me and I can update the form.

Another idea is that I can provide a link to simply download the xls form, so you can simply fill in the info directly to the form and send it back to me to republish.

I'll work on setting up the form... then I'll either use this thread or start a new one for posting the info.

It's a huge project, and won't happen overnight (unless Ron has no life, types fast, & never sleeps...), but at least by setting up a place to gather the info, then with the help of many, it will gradually get filled in!

    Sound like a plan?

Sweet, The past archives of the nats should be a good start. Start with the 2010 Nats and just work backwards.

Oh and Paul, they say the mind is the second thing that goes.....I can't remeber what the first one was.......

    whoever "they" are????

    .

I didn't think Jerry had yet purchased the LTD in 96, but you are probably correct?

When he first opend he had a Hasse King, Oval and the MTT. Some time after that he replaced the Hasse king prior to the Nat's and later replaced the oval with the LTD. The LTD came from Jack Devins (spelling?) and is the one that Ramcat Larry now owns and is for sale here on the blog
