Great job Larry. You dominated Pro G12 while green lane kicked my butt (48 laps). All the participants were helpful and fun to hang out with. "Friendly competition" made for an enjoyable event. The food service was also excellent. Let them know we appreciated their service.

Tim the skidmarks crew will take you back on a probationary basis lol. good run at the barn burner in both classes looks like I built you a good 27 lite car too!! motors by les, guess its time to get to the post office and ship some more stuff. lol. The tire choice can make or break you in a race always test tires before the race and know what works, you still done good though and beat some locals and fast guys!!!!

Tim, you may have had a bad green in the Pro gp12 race but not many others did. Also in the Am Gp12 race, green was your best color 68.

I learned, didn't I? Don't make the same mistake twice. I switched to XX tires after red like I do at Skidmarks. Reggie did the same thing in OMO.

And that is what she said! I ran Beuf Blends in 27 lite, they were awesome on any lane. Larry P stayed with Thunder 1X in Gp12 and Erkle was running the Thunder "V" 2x in opens. If anything I tend to run a softer tire for Red or a smaller set.

I've met you and talked to you numerous times and like you a lot, but as a track owner and a friend of Doug's,
your "Green lane posts" really hit a nerve.

From earlier reading your post in OMO, and your first post in this thread, I was lead to believe
that Green lane at PJ had a problem (IE-developed a bump, had braid up, somebody lighter fluided the lane, etc.)

By omitting the four words "Our tire choice on" to preface "Green killed us", it was doing a disservice to Doug
and the PJ crew.

Even after Doug rightfully called you out and you explained that you switched to harder tires,
that "like I do at Skidmarks" remark came off a little weird like Skidmark's is slightly superior or
Doug should prep his track like your home track.

Believe me, no track owner I know, and certainly not Doug, wants his track to be known
as one tailored so only the locals will win.

Regardless, back in the day when a lot of guys still raced wing cars, that was the point of traveling to other tracks.
To race on something not like at home, and if you won, it made it just that more sweet.

When Big Mike approached me about resurrecting the Tri-State series and asking me if I was
interested in a race, the only part that had me leery, is that with a series full of Gerding tracks,
would racers be able to figure out how to slow down a bit in the finger and lead-on on Purple and Black
and the dead-man and the 90 on White and Red.

If running on a minuscule less bitey Green lane on one Gerding Speedbowl vs. another Gerding Speedbowl
is enough to stymie you, running on my track will be highly confounding to you.

I'll be the first to admit that I have no clue how to adjust to conditions. Every track is different and I need to learn what works. I have done less than my cars are capable of because my driving sucks. I specifically asked Big Mike to build me a conservative car to compensate for my driving. After the first day of racing, Reggie and I stayed late breaking in tires. We learned.

I love racing at Port Jeff and all the locals were very helpful. I have the same poor judgement about tire selection at Skidmarks. At last years Barn Burner Brad was choosing the tires for me. I have no dreams of being a top driver, but I love to travel to other tracks and race with people from all over the country and world.

I will be at the next Barn Burner, and attend as many wing races as I can regardless of variations in conditions. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I believe everyone knows how much fun I have had at the last three races (T/R Motorplex, Skidmarks, Port Jeff).

Swiss, schedule a race and I will make every effort to be there, because I like the comraderie. The nature of the track is of no importance to me. The attitude of the racers is what makes it fun for me. I make every effort to promote the fun of racing wing cars and beg my fellow racers to be patient with my lack of driving skills. Sorry that I hit a nerve. We have to be so careful on how we word things online.

Come on guys quit pickin on my little buddy. To go to NY all by himself (11 hour drive) and try to hang with some of the best G12 racers in the world was a great feat. I'm sorry I'm not ready for any big races or I would have been there to help. Tip number one when going out of town is see what the locals are doing. Thunder rubber was the way to go. Tim is a remarkable builder and racer wanting to do it on his own. We all know how difficult racing at an unfermiliar track can be. We are proud to call Tim a FART member.

What you really need to do is get that time machine finished and take Tim to
the basement in Cincinnati in about 1984.

I'm not sure but I think you ran on the Hasse King in Cincinnati, not the American.
