Hershman got to race with the Amatuers? I'm sorry but that just seems ridiculous to me. There really needs to be some driver classification enforced. Congrats to the other podium finishers, know you lost to one of the best racers in the world, that should have never been in the amatuer division.

Come on guys. You shouldn't be surprised by this. We all know that the USRA Rules are only followed when it's convenient.

The unfortunate thing here is that Ron who is by no stretch of the imagination an "amateur" took a National title away from a deserving racer who actually qualifies as an amateur.

    Ron,

You know I have a great deal of respect for you, but I have to say I'm kinda disapointed in you here man. Just saying.

Beyond all that, it looks like it was a very good race between the "actual" 1st and 2nd place winners, Phil and Joe. Congrats guys.

3 Michigan Racers in Top 5

    Great Job guys,

Phil Sloan 2nd, Dave DeCoster 4th, and Dave Mountz 5th.

Gentlemen, you represented Michigan Slot Racers well. Dave Mountz 5th place at the Nats. Not bad, not bad at all.

    Regards,

Just another spike in the hearts of weekly racers who actually feel [and deservedly so] to have an actual chance at a national championship and spend their time and money at the local tracks, only to be denied by someone who should not be racing in this class. WTG big boys! John Austin

I too am more then a bit shocked and confused...

I was a bit surprised to see Rande Marshal raced in Amateur LMP... but now Ron Hershman raced Amateur???

Did Ron turn over his slot car businesses to his son or something???

Even if so... how many Pro National titles has he won???

Sounds like Ron H pulled a "Fast One"!
