Rick and Phil Sloan were fellow wing car racers at Cereal City Raceways in my home town of Battle Creek Michigan in the 1960's-1970's. We attended the Bicentennial race at Joel's in 1976 as part of the Michigan Other, meaning "Not Detroit", crew (they rocked, I sucked).

It has been a huge personal treat to have them show up for the nats and get two podiums so far... it has been nearly 30 years since I saw Rick race (Milwaukee Octoberfest 1981?) and he is still tough as nails.
