Gary, I tried, Frank will verify that....but there may be a few good reasons for the 4.5" NASCAR. First, it is still a motor builder's class thank God. Second, our NORCAL series runs 4.5" TRUCKS, so they can stick a stock car body on their machines and race in the Nats. I think we're going to try to do our best to get good NORCAL participation even though they are doing handouts for 4" NASCAR and LMP. With NORCAL you are getting about 25-35 entries per class which would be awesome. In Northern California we do not race JRL at all, not like on the East Coast. I think Frank is pragmatic and made a good call even though I am disappointed for my own self interest!

Yeah, that certainly makes traveling to the race much more difficult for the ES racers.

Yeah, And this year the ES races were spread out over four days with 1/24 on Monday! Some of you are never happy! Make it a vacation and do a little "Whine" tasting in between.

Big John, you took the words out of my mouth! If I had some vacation time, I would fly in on Tuesday and then race 1/32 F1 and ES32 on Wednesday. I would then pack up my stuff because there would be nothing to race until Sunday and I would head east to the town of Portola and rent a diesel locomotive for an hour with the old geezer Western Pacific engineer giving me a lesson in throttle control. It's really cool when he fires up that huge engine.

Then I would head over to Virginia City, Nevada.

Another great place to go would be Markleeville, CA and have a meal at a great restaurant just outside of town run by a wonderful retired couple. (Villa Gigli)

Of course you can always head into San Francisco and order a porterhouse at Harris Steakhouse or a chunk of flesh at House of Prime Rib....I might be able to swing a discount at Holiday Inn on Van Ness through my wife for ya.

Anyway, have fun and see northern California while others are running the handouts if eurosport is all you are interested in. In 2-3 days you will only scratch the surface of stuff to do out here. Return to the Nats on Saturday night and tune your ES24 for the next day, or if you're like me also prepare your kids race car (I plan to crash that one like pro racers in the amateur class in the 2010 Nats) which should also be a good race on the King Track. I think it's going to be 4" NASCAR, but we don't know yet. KVAN, you should get ready for that one too as long as it's on the same day as 1/24 eurosport.

MMMM, Harris! The dry aged "grass fed" beef hangs in a window cooler and you can call your cut. Homemade Jack Daniels steak sauce and the martinis come in their own ice submerged carafe!

    Crap! Now I'm hungry!..................................Thanks a lot George...........

I am confused...you race Euros on Wed then you can race GTP the next day and LMP too.If ya can't do the handout thing well that is why I put the GTP race on the Testarossa and the LMP on the King. What happened to GT-12 on Friday....seems that I made a race for YOU guys everyday except Saturday(NASCAR FOR KIDS TOO),I think the handouts are gonna be alot of fun @ this race too. See ya soon!!

Who says you can't have both 4.5" Nascar AND JRL?

    Frank,

I would really like to fly out on Sunday. To do that, the race would have to end about 3pm. If you assume 3 mains, tech would have to close about 10am.

Given the amount of time available to the ES racers throughout the week, this should not be a problem for the racers.

I would love to stay for a party so the earlier we finish the more time for that!

    Thanks,
    Roy H.
