    How Many Volts?

For those of you that have a Hudy tire truer, is 5 volts to much or to less? What do you guys run yours at?

    Michael,

This will vary depending on which sanding drum you have, which rubber you're cutting, and the depth of cut. It is best if you use a variable power supply, so you can keep the Hudy drive motor from bogging. The 5 volts is a good average, but both higher and lower settings have their place.

Volts will yield an output RPM only if your power supply has enough AMPS to pull the load. A five volt wall wart will not do the job. The goal is to run them fast enough to cut material quickly and NOT so fast as to have centrifugal force stretch and distort the final diameter.
