    C Can Magnets

    I was hoping someone can tell me the outside radius of a C Can magnet

    I think .828 Dia.And that would be a .414 Radius. Sorry Monty I didn't see it was for you.

    Thats OK Tracy,

    I can expand on the subject some. Original specs for a C can call for .835", and magnets were pegged at .150" thick, thus yeilding a .535" hole. Mura magnets (plain, red dot or blue dot) held the .150" very well, as did P/S Mega I, II, and SMQ. The latest all Chinese P/S setups have magnets a bit undersized from .150".

    It also used to be that most cans, Mura, Koford, P/S, or RJR had to be sized with the trusty old .835" tool as they would be slightly undersize otherwise. This was not a lot, since the spotwelded or TIG welded seams rarely split. Some of the newer cans are a bit loose.

    Then there are the Cahoza setups: the cans are very accurate, but the magnets are slightly thicker than .150"
    A clean slotcar is a happy slotcar!!
