    Isra brazil 2011 - es24

Qualifying is underway for 24th Eurosport.

Here are the results after the first 15 drivers have qualified.

    After 30 drivers have qualified

After 45 drivers have qualified. Looks like track has got slower as qualifying goes. Lots of top drivers not getting under 4.5

Qualifying is over. The big story has to Mauro, who ran very early in qualifying and set the bar with a 4.2, and held the pole all the way to the last qualifier, Horky who ran a 4.17
    Final Qualifying Results:

    Horky's 4.1

Thumbs up ES24 Heats and Semi Finals

With these pics, once the pic loads at imageshack, click on it again to load a bigger more readable version.

    Heat G Final Results:

    Heat F Final Results:

    Heat E Final Results:

Heat D Final Results - After lap counter meltdown, heat 8 was re-run.

    Heat C Final Results:

An amazing finish, 6 drivers all on 282 or 281 laps. Below are the totals including segments. With only the B and A heats to go all 6 beat the previous high total, so all will make it into the top 24 and make the semis.

Heat B Final Results: With 274 being the lowest all 8 of these drivers should be into the semis.

    Heat B with segments:

    Heat A Final Results:

Here is a list of those that made it to the semi finals. Not very clear, but almost readable.

    Missed Semi Final C

    Semi Final B Final Results:

Semi Final B Results with Segments:

Semi Final A Results: Huge total posted by Horky 403, 6 laps up on Gawronski.

    Semi Final Results:

Looks like the main is Vladimir Horky, Paul Gawronski, Jiri Karlik, Paolo Trigilio, Mauro Carreira, Piero Castricone, Petr Krcil, Sandis Spricis

Roger hard at work before the main cleaning braid

See post below for the main.

    Cool ES24 Main

Jiri is first to hook up for some practice before the main

More main drivers arrive for some practice after putting their "best bullets" in.

    Main Lane Assignments:

After Heat 1: Horky with a 2 lap lead over Trigilio and Karlik

After Heat 2: Horky 2 laps over Trigilio 3 laps over Karlik. Horky going to Red now.

After Heat 3: Karlik takes the lead, but tied with Horky and Trigilio, and Horky has finished red. Trigilio goes to red now.

After Heat 4: Horky extends his lead over Karlik with Gawronski getting around Trigilio for 3rd

After Heat 5: Karlik drops away on white, so it's Horky with 3 plus laps over Gawronski, who has one lap over Trigilio. Gawronski was running faster on purple than Horky on blue. Can Gawronski do it?

After Heat 6: A monster heat from Trigilio running 2 tenths faster than everyone else on blue sees him take the lead by less than a lap form Horky wiht Gawronski back 1 lap. Castricone makes his charge, but has to finish on white and red.

After Heat 7: Another monster heat for Trigilio running 4.4's on Purple sees him stretch his lead over Horky and Gawronski. Trigilio ends on black, Gawronski on Orange and Horky on Yellow.

That's it, it's over. Trigilio by 4 over Horky by 4 over Gawronski, 3 more back to Karlik, 4 more back to Krcil, 4 more bakc to Castricone and Carreira tied, then Spricis in 8th. The race was a lot lot closer than the results show.

One final post, the main finishers with segments

That's all for now, ISRA Worlds 2001 are officially over. Hopefully I can make the next years race in Sweden, it sure beats sitting here watching via webcam!

A little analysis of the main:

Exciting race. I think 3 or 4 racers had the lead at some point. Trigilio had an awesome black in the last heat to win. Wow, Paolo won all 4 races.

Many thanks to Chris Radisch for his dedicated race reporting. Chris, you figured out a way to get the info on this website creatively and we all benefitted. I've never seen such a dominant performance by one slotcar racer as by Paolo Triglio!!! WOW

$ out of 4. Never been done before and probably never again. Paulo should be allowed to take the track home with him. It's his playground for ever. Red Fox raceway, Hey Paulo wins there doesn't he.
