So we are not following the published rules ?
Don't get me wrong, I don't want handouts, but that IS what the rulebook specifies.

The reason for the original post is to deal with it before the Nats not AT the Nats. I'm not going to spend money building GT 12 motors only to have to buy a hand out at the Nats !

In looking at the schedule, there are no amateur classes this year. I was told that the BoD lumped the experts & amateurs together in order to save time. Does this help?

    Russ,

Really not trying to pick on you here but GT12 will have both AM and EX, it is the only class left with the separation. It was not the BoD but an online vote that consolidated 4" and 4.5"Nascar and LMP. In GT12, AM will run GTP bodies and EX will run LMP bodies. As far as the schedule, check here

    Nats entry

    f1 euro $35.00
    1/32 euro $40.00
    gtp $25.00
    lmp $25.00
    gt-12 $25.00 am & ex
    4.5 nascar $25.00
    jr race $10.00
    nascar $25.00
    1/24 eurosport $45.00

I stand corrected & await for the official word on will occur. See you there, either way.

Alan, just based on the entry fees, I would say your answer to Am GT12 is you are using your own motors. But like you, I would say that line needs to be removed from the rule book!

But look at the fees for 4' Nascar and LMP. I don't think the motor is included in those prices.

I will be there either way.
I have already spent my $$ on my GT12 motors and don't want to get a surprise when I get there.

But there is a BIG difference between the cost of an X12 and the cost of a Hawk7/16D

There is no handout motor for Amateur GT-12. There is a mistake in the rule book. Sorry.

The rule book is at the printer so it will be incorrect. There will be an addendum posted on the USRA website to correct this oversight.........it's an example of another error in the rule book that has been carried forward for several years. Until 2010 it was listed as.......at the USRA National Championship Race all amateur division classes will use handout motors except C-12E.

I don't know if anyone spotted this but on page 65 under GTP Armatures Super 16 C the diameter shows .520-.660. I hope someone spotted it before me.
I've done so much with so little for so long it seems like I can do anything with nothing at all.
