Jim, is it true Retro 5 won't happen till June?? Here I have 4 fast retro cars now ........ and they will collect dust for 60 days or so. Oh well, will have to find other amusement which won't be hard if the weather gives us more of what we got today.

    Hi Dennis,

Sadly there just aren't enough weekends in a month to accommodate all the great race programs we have. Normally our RETRO program shares the race day with the class based drag racing, on our normal May date we have our semi-annual drag racing event the Popeye's Chicken Nationals (Sponsored of course by Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits). The next and final date of the season for our RETRO program will be June 2nd. After that we go into our summer schedule until September. Its likely we'll be able to fit in a retro race or two during the summer if the interest is there. I would also like to do our RETRO program twice a month next season and add an additional class (RETRO PRO most likely). Would love feedback from other local retro racers to see what you guys want to do because at the end of the day its really your race program, not mine.

Glad to see you having a good time with RETRO!

Not sure of the eurosport weekend schedule, any space in there, or the 2nd weekend? Possible squeeze something in after the GTP?

The scale programs generally run the entire day both days, One possible option would be on a sunday where there is no conflicts to work around. I don't think that would be a conflict for most people, but I know your (Tom) work schedule has changed recently. Another option would be Thursday evening, that day has no events scheduled either, that one might be an issue for Team Cavish as they are already racing on Wednesdays and Fridays.

    Yeah ........ Sunday racing!

One Sunday out of the month of May should work for an afternoon of Retro racing. With no distractions or delays ........ the 2 races could be over in a few hours.

Sundaze are OK by me. Just if I have to work I can't make it there until between 2-3 pm, Thursdays would be OK too.

I could use a good race or two myself to settle a need for speed urge. With retro, we still "think" we are going fast ......... so that is all that matters.

Besides, I now have an extreme experimental car to test on the track. Might render everything else totally useless and obsolete ........ OR might just be a dog that can't get out of it's own way.

Anybody up for an F1 race 5/26? How about a bit longer format, say 500 laps or so, on the Hillclimber? That may work out to about a 40-45 minute race.

    Yay or nay?

So we race an open wheel 500 lap race on Saturday ......... and Indianapolis does it on Sunday?

500 laps couldn't happen in (8) 3 minute heats ...... so how would it work? Just keep changing lanes till a winner is declared and the race is stopped? Anyway, that could be a fun concept.

Time to spring for a new motor I know will go the distance.

Monaco is also on Sunday, then that day ends with the taxicab race.

The distance thing may not be supported by the race computer so it *should* work out to somewhere around a 40-45 minute race- around 5+ minute heats. Diane and I looked at the prior races to come up with that guesstimate. We do mid/low 40s and a 496 lapper would be 62 per heat average.
