    Question

Can anyone tell me the reason why other top racers like Paul Gawronski and Tracy Chin did not make the trip since this big race can be a tune up for the forthcoming ISRA World Championship in San Francisco?

    Tune up?

    or vice versa...

    Theories and excuses abound.

Those that did make it are having some extremely competative racing on a very challenging flat track. The racing is fast, and the atmosphere is fun.

Hopefully even more will make it next year - maybe Kirk will have to knock out another wall. ;-)

    Kris Kassens says:
The race was VERY clean! No track calls, no swearing. Medium destruction. Tight flat tracks invite lots of wrecks. Good group of guys. Laughing broke the stress. Great program/management. No baby sitter needed.
Very fast level of skill. Higher standand, very professional.

I won my C Main!! Today was the first race I've entered in Two years!! I had fun getting the rust out!!

    More news coming soon!
Check often for almost live updates, photos and poor, poor, humor.

    Indy Race

    Hey Paul,
I was wondering when you were going to post the Indy results.
Great pics , The slide show is the best. I guess the cars go so fast they are not visable as the only time the cars are seen are when they are still.Only kidding!

Sorry for not keeping up this morning gang, but I've been a busy beaver today.

    Concours - Wayne Halabourda

What can I say? Every year this class produces nail bitingly close racing. Early in the race, practically the entire feild was within a lap or two, and most of the race had seveeral positions within a lap. Herman and I were tied for the lead going into the last couple heats, and in the closing minute I had a slight lead with Herman reeling me in fast. I was staying a few feet in front of Herman while we both pushed harder, and the Herman came off, giving me a bit of breathing room. Just as I though he would catch me again, the power went off. An extremely clean and competative race, and about as exhilerating as they come. Needless to say, I'm a very happy camper, with probably my biggest race win ever (along with the recent Parma Challenge Cup!)!

    1/32 Eurosport Results

With 11 entries for 1/32 Eurosport, we'd be running the "dreaded" 11 man round robin.

1/32 Euro's was another barnburner, with Matt Zenovitch and Paul Ciccarello tied for most of the race. Ian Douglass, Rick Dodge, and Herman James kept kept close behind, until Herman had gear troubles late in the race.

The last heat had Matt just 1/2 lap ahead of Chicky, with Matt on the fast purple lane, and Paul going just as fast on green. They both hit traffic, but when Paul went flying off the sweeper, it gave Matt just enough breather to hold him off and win by a lap. Ian drove a very fast and steady race to take 3rd.

    1/32 Scale Eurosport Results
    (4 minute heats)

1 - Matt Zenovitch - 500 (Matt is undefeated in 1/32 Euro here, with his 4th straight Slugfest / AFTW 1/32 win)
2 - Paul Ciccarello - 498 (awesome race, especially on unfamiliar track)
    3 - Ian Douglass - 496
    4 - Rick Dodge - 479
    5 - Steve Nichols - 463
6 - Herman James - 462 (late trip to pits ended race for 3rd)
    7 - Wayne Halabourda - 456
    8 - Mike O'Donnell - 443
    9 - Paul Kassens - 418 (numerous problems)
    10 - Chris Radisich - 411
    11 - Craig Rieland - 133

    TQ - Herman James - 3.372

    Reply to Harold

    Hi Harold!

I talked to Tom and he said to tell you that he can't solder a motor in as fast as Herman. His motor broke loose, and he was having trouble getting it soldered in, and so Herman took over and told him to just wait at the drivers panel. After that, the car was great.

Tom also said that you just can't imagine how tough the level of competition is here. At Chico, Tom felt like he could drive pretty darned good, but here he still feels like a rookie. ;-)

This track is pretty tricky to learn, and is not like any other track, making it even harder to newcomers to adapt.
