Every year at The Flats - there is a Grand Champion Award - based on points earned in 4 classes of racing.

There is also a tradition started by Rob McCuistion - that the winner gets a pie in the face!

This years winner was Aaron Roed - just edging out Jim Radford for the Grand Champion title.

Roy Dredge shot a video of the awards ceremony and Aaron getting his plaque - and pie in the face!



After cleaning up the pie in his face... Aaron Roed was presented another prize for winning the Grand Champion award...

a brand new Third Eye FET controller - presented by Howard Smith of Third Eye.

Aaron Roed took the Grand Champion prize, it was a fierce battle and he was the victor. He did a great job and deserved it! (Not to mention it would have been hard to pie myself!)

I'm pretty sure you would have had no problem getting someone else to volunteer and do the honors! LOL

Looks like it came down to 1/24 Eurosport - and Aaron has such a great B Main nabbing a close second, just edging Leonard, to earn the Grand Champion award and pie in the face!

Man... if Leonard had not come off in the last minute of the B Main and held off Aaron to win the B Main... You and Aaron would have wound up TIED!
You would have had to have TWO pies??? (I know - there are tiebreakers for ties...)

Congrats to George, Aaron, & Leonard on a great 1/24 Euro race, and to Aaron for taking the pie!
