    SLINGTHING:

Well I'm glad that you don't criticize what's happen at a race way, keep on sticking to that if that makes you happy.
Personally me as a customer I will tell you that I'm bringing in revenue to the race way with my hard earn dollars. I think a race way needs to listen to it's customers, because if they are not happy they will not show up again.
I don't say that BPR is not trying to improve the place, but you need to have a sell able stock and a knowledgeable staff to take care of issues (technical) that shows up at times.
It's not my place and it is not my thing to tell what is needed to change to keep the racers coming back.
Tim if that is the last place for us to race on a commercial race way is not my problem, I won't look away I will say something, if I see a problem?
Last is if BPR was a restaurant they would never see me again.
Everything is not that great but for you it might be, and I respect that, but you don't show up more then three times a year!
What ever, I do have other interest in life.

As usual--you don't know what you're talking about. But you're always open to criticize constantly! It's one of the things that got your thrown off the slotblog site-- I'm happy to race MANY different class's at BPR. I didn't see you at the LMP / GT12 races? Nor the hard body Nationals?? Not racing the truck class's either?? Hmmm-- retro on the King only---that's fine--you're a specialist. Haven't seen you drag racing either? There's SO much more slot racing available to you--I haven't seen you at "The Cave" either---but I hope you learn to have fun without bitching all the time. But I guess it's just your nature? Or are you just off your meds??

    Nesta,

You certainly are welcome to your opinion. However, my observations somewhat differ from yours. They listen to their customers and try new things, new races.

It's been said before but we need to support BPR. If we need a part(s), buy them at BPR even if we can save a buck or two elsewhere. Enter as many races as you can. Bring a friend. I know you've been a loyal long time customer and travel a great distance to race.

Enjoy BPR for what it is. A quality commercial slot car track with a friendly environment and as you say, " I'm racing the best here at BPR".

Yes SLINGTHING I do have a opinion about things at BPR, face it I been supporting that race way since 2007 and its all good.
Sure that is the only race way we have in the South part of California but we do have the Cave.
Wonder why they started their operation for?
I still think you need to do things for the racers and sure I can't imagine what is happening during the week at BPR, how could I?
You need deep pockets to run a raceway and you also need new clientele to make it profitable as well a internet store where people can but parts as well.
I know who you are but I can't recall your name, but I will check it out on the race report to find out.
Glad that you have a opinion about this, keep on racing and support our race way like we do.

Not familiar with The Cave. Tim W. by the way. "The New Guy". See you at the races!

Back to remembering Oscar. I wish I could attend his memorial service but I already scheduled a trip out of town. I will cherish the few pictures my wife took of Oscar along with a video of us racing side by side.

Nesta, you have to practice a little patience with bashers from the other blog. I actually wanted to get the boot. Too much ugliness and too easy to easy to engage in ugly things myself. I'm better off sticking to just discussing slot cars, tech and good times. Hershman's slot chat is decent as well as OWH.

Hey Tim, Nesta drives a good distance to race and gives us some good pics and race reports. So maybe stick with the degrading talk on the other blog that has a healthy appetite for that stuff and keep it out of here. I do well to make it twice a year to BP and there's actually a life after slotblog. -m

Take a breath gentlemen. Everyone gets their opinions but no bashing each other.
Everyone including Nesta knows that BP is a great place to race and play. Race and enjoy

I was just about to post yet another one of my old "can't we all just get along?" Rodney King type posts... but Shontel put it much more succinctly then I could have.

So I'll just say: "What SHE said".

    Wow....

Even after Shontel & I posted... nobody seemed to take a breath or skip a beat.

I guess when a bunch of kids share the same sand box, sometimes they forget that they came there because they all love to play in the sand.

I deleted the last batch of posts, because all of them were just posts about posts and arguing about who said what... and nothing to do with slot cars.

Now... if everyone would please keep in mind, that this is Nesta's thread and Nesta started the topic - so let's try to keep the discussion on topic, which had something to do with slot cars...

For those who don't like to read Nesta's (or anyone else's) posts, then nobody is forcing you to click on and read threads or posts by that person. And keep in mind that you don't always have to agree with someone to enjoy and share the same hobby with them. That is one of the things that I enjoy so much about this weird hobby - is that it attracts such a wide range of characters, that might not ever even cross paths if not for sharing the same hobby.

We may come from so many different places, backgrounds, demographics, & other interests... but when the power goes on, we all share the same reason for being on the track.

    So....

    3.... 2.... 1.... RACE 'EM....

Well Paul, have to say you did it the right way as usual.
There is no need for this kind of behavior for any one and as well not from me.
Don't like me, go some where else to take your feelings out and there is a place where you can vent your venom and its called PM's or E-mail.
OWH is not like the other place and thanks to Paul's insight how we operate at times he will not condemn anyone.

To suggest if someone doesn't like what another poster says they should ignore it or go elsewhere or not read it, is a cowards way out of refusing to call the hard shots and booting those who persist in acting like a**holes.

To constantly allow someone make gutter posts just to maintain a high rating, is equally a cowards way out.

Do you mean like THIS post???

I don't even get it. "allow someone to make gutter posts just to maintain a high rating"???

What "high rating" would THAT be???

And are you calling me a "coward" for not booting "those who persist in acting like a**holes"????

Is that some sort of challenge???
"You talkin' to ME?" (read as Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver)

How come you can't just let it go? Do you just have to always have the last word? Why do you insist on even posting in threads that should either not even concern you, or that you dislike so much??? Do you just love to push people buttons, or are you so OCD that you just can't stand to leave something you disagree with alone??? I suspect that is the case, as it is something I myself can certainly identify with... but I have usually managed to restrain myself.

One of these days I really need to rewrite my OWH Slot Car Talk "House Rules" - but one rule that I will always keep high on the list is the "no posts about posts" rule:

    13) No posts about posts, or posts about posters, guesses about true identities, ponderings about poster's motivations for their posts, psychoanalysis of posters and posts, theories of government conspiracies, alien autopsies (oops, that's X-Files).

And while we're at it... there's always this rule:

    14) No reviews, opinions, or critiques on "Mom's" performance, frequency, or perceived fairness of properly monitoring this board.

I created this forum to share info about SLOT CARS. Not to critique or argue each others posts, opinions, spelling, grammar, or how I choose to moderate my forums.

I realize that often we all can act like a bunch of 12 year old kids when it comes to this hobby... and I'm just as guilty as any of you. But when it degrades to the point where we start sounding like kindergartners... then I have to draw a line at some point!

Geez Ron, I consider you as a good friend... but I must say that if anyone is being an a**hole right now, you are much more likely to be a candidate for that title then Nesta.

I'll leave these last two posts for now... but then I will probably delete them later....

This thread was a race report honoring our dear departed fellow racing friend Oscar... and the majority of recent posts have nothing to do with the race or with Oscar.

Man... even Oscar would have been fed up with all this bickering by now.

I know it will probably frustrate you that I am getting the last word... but I think it's more then about time to lock the thread now.
