New Member From Cheyenne . . . Time To Race Again!

Just discovered this forum. Been wanting to get back into slot car racing. Did a little years ago when I lived in Vegas but being in the military I move quite often and it seemed nowhere I went had a track nearby. Currently live in Cheyenne, WY and discovered there are a few tracks fairly close a little south of here in Colorado. Anybody know if there has ever been a track in Cheyenne?

Hello Jason: From what I remember there was/ is a track in Casper Also down in Longmont and Greely there are tracks. You might check out " Slot Blogs" retro racing. I am sure there are some folks there that can give you better answers than I can. I think on " facebook " there is the
Colorado slot car club" or something similar that is the greely group.
    Hope this helps good luck

Checked out the OWH Slot Car Raceway Directory and didn't see anything in Casper.

There are three in Colorado that are within 80 miles.

Colorado Speed Freaks Slot Car Raceway (Greeley, CO)

Rainbow Curve Raceway (Estes Park, CO)

    Slot Car Speedway (Longmont, CO)

Anybody here race at any of these tracks?

Jason, last I knew, the Estes Park track was for sale, so it may not still be there. I don't know if they ever held organized races there. Longmont has an active group of retro racers. I think they run monthly races. They have their own forum, RMRRA (Rocky Mountain Retro Racing Association) on the Slotblog bbs. I've read about this group having had races at Ace's Place in Casper, maybe one or two a year. I don't hear anything about what is going on at Greeley. I would suggest giving these places a phone call, if their numbers are posted in the raceway directory.
I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people who annoy me.

Last I knew Longmont had a " Oglvie Kinglman. I was there in 2010 and there wasn' a king there then. Not sure about now. The Estes park track is in Pueblo now along with the old Colorado springs drag strip. Also drag strips in Denver and Longmont.

Found a listing for a Mach 1 Raceway in Casper but called the number and it said it had been disconnected.

    Hi Jason,

I race in Greeley and Longmont. In Greeley, racing is Friday nights and Sunday afternoon. Longmont usually has races Saturday evenings.

We also race at Ace's place, a private track near Casper. There was a track in Laramie that closed about 5 or 6 years ago.

This Friday in Greeley, racing is Falcon HD (falcon 7 motor, stamped steel chassis, and high downforce body) and Box Stock 12 starting at 6:30 PM. And on Sunday at 2:30, it is Nascer Flexi, any stamped steel chassis, Parma sealed deathstar with 9/31 48 pitch gears and 1/8' axle.

I'm not sure about Saturday in Longmont, but you could call Jim Rogers at the raceway. We usually run a stamped steel chassis class ans retro can am.

Come down for a visit, we always welcome new racers.
