Not defensive at all! Just pointing out that at least the top two finishers ran motors that weren't honed. Your post said, "The guys in the know" ran honed motors... Trying to figure out who you were referring to. In the end, it wouldn't have mattered. As your post indicated, it was considered "legal" last year, regardless.

I'm always prepared and expecting Justin's stuff to get torn apart and inspected closer than other's. That's why I didn't risk the "unwritten rule" of allowing honing and went with un-honed setups...Plus, as I said, those setups turned out to be faster...

As for this year, no, we won't be there, unfortunately. We are planning to attend the World's in Czech in October. Unfortunately, the expense of doing that, plus the amount of time Justin would have to take off from school (He's a High School Sophomore), is going to keep us from going. If we'd known earlier the "issues" surrounding the World's, we might have opted to just go to Nats instead, but at this point, we're committed to World's.

I know the guys in Jersey are fast. Justin's raced with them a couple of times now, and they're a great group of guys. We would have loved to have gone!

I offered motors to George if he wanted to run GP10 or 4.5, Herman. Same offer goes for you. You can even take a couple 4.5" chassis if you want... We can talk about it Sunday at D3 at Eddie's. Oh... Wait... :-) Well... We'll be there. I can meet you outside or something. :-)

Ummmm no...honed 16-D motors were not and should not have been allowed last year. Here is the announcement prior to last years Nats.....

OK, here is the final decision of the USRA B.O.D. Handout 16D motors are not currently available for Group 10, therefore it will not be a hand out motor class. Racers participating in the Group 10 NASCAR race, you'll need to bring your own motor(s). Refer to the USRA rule book for any questions on 16D motor specs.

Mic is correct, Ron. I'm not sure what everyone ran, but I know many ran motors that were not honed. However, we were told that honing would not be teched or grounds for DQ. I got a similar response to Boost's when I inquired. So, I assume there were some that did run honed motors. The whole 16D thing was kind of a mess last year, but I think they handled it the best they could at that point...

George Russell, had to make a quick decision and I feel he made a correct one. The 2014 Nat's was a complete success.

Understand your points, but when it's announced publicly that build your own motors are allowed and to meet the current USRA specs and then there is no public announcement that honed motors would be allowed, that's the and A problem IMO.

There was a public announcement made that build your own motors to the current USRA rules ( and that said no honing ) would be allowed, but there was never a public announcement made saying honed motors would be allowed or allowed to slide through inspection.

That is a problem and causes confusion and hard feelings that you are no reading in these posts.

I never said in previous posts it was a bad decision to allow built motors or that the 2014 Nats wasn't a success.

But if an announcement is made and then it's going to be changed afterwards to allow something that is not allowed in the first announcement, then by all means, make another announcement and let everyone know in a public forum.

To do it any other way is not fair to all involved.

    Think about it.

No we cannot because the server will think it's getting dos attacked with how many times it pings the server If it was to refresh say every 10 seconds, than it would block the live timing all Together. Be thankful it's up and running!

    Scale Front Wheel Wells

Someone said you MUST have clear or cut out wheel wells in all scale classes.

Page 54 states that 4 1/2" Stock Car bodies MUST cut out front wheel wells. This is clear.

Page 53 and 49 both state that scale cars MAY be cut out or left clear. Nothing MANDATES that you MUST choose either of these options.

So, lets slap some wheel stickers appropriately on the sides of our painted bodies, and lets go racing!
