KRUMNOW AND FEURSTEIN TAKE BRS WINS AT HMS SPEEDWAYS
BELLEVUE, OH
Even though Team CHR leader Cap Henry was off in Australia racing sprint cars and taking a mid-winter vacation, teammates David Krumnow and Brad Feurstein managed to pick-up their first Buckeye Retro Series (BRS) victories on Feb. 8 at Kit Henrys HMS Speedways in Bellevue, Ohio. Krumnow won the Formula One/Indy class, while Feurstein annexed the Can-Am division win on the reconstructed 155 foot swoopy Ogilvie King track, modified by Gary Gerding.

FORMULA ONE/INDY MAINS
B-MAIN
Greg Krumnow, who continues to improve in his rookie season in retro racing, made short work of the B-main. The Clyde, Ohio-native raced out to a three lap margin over Dan Myers in the first heat, and never looked back. Krumnow cruised to an eventual seven lap margin of victory over Myers by the end of the contest. Earl Graybill and Matt Easterday had a tight battle for the final spot on the podium, with Graybill taking the position by just six track sections. Dan Pops Myers survived a blown ring gear with a minute left in the race to hang on to the fifth spot over Rick Easterday.

CAN-AM MAINS
B-Main
Dan Myers got back on the winning track in BRS action, by pulling down a solid win over a fast improving Matt Easterday in the Can-Am B-Main. Myers led after the first two heats, but found himself dead locked with veteran Earl Graybill going into the fourth segment. Myers went back up on top for good after that, as Graybill and Easterday battled it out for the runner-up slot. A bad outing on the black gutter lane during the fifth segment was Graybills undoing, as he fell five laps behind Easterday. Graybill was able to cut into Easterdays margin, but fell three laps short at the end. Retro newcomer Craig Sharfenberg finished fourth, trailed by Dan Pops Myers and Rick Easterday.

A-Main
While Brad Feurstein jumped into command at the start of the Can-Am A-main and led every heat, it was far from an easy victory, as Ron Hershman and Greg Fox kept him within their gun sights during the entire race. Feurstein never enjoyed more than a four lap margin during the entire contest, and ended up edging out Hershman by only two laps at the checker. Third place Greg Fox was two laps further back. David Krumnow was fourth , in front of Willy Custer, Ross Scharf and Greg Krumnow.
