    Simple power outage= TOTAL nightmare

Well, isn't THIS "special" Had a power outage @ the shop today, turns out that Ameren was replacing some "lightning arrester"(?) up on the nearby lightpole. computer was Turned off @ the time, & the lapmaster was unplugged @ the time. Didn't THINK there'd be any kind of issue... I go to turn on the track, & the computer won't load windows.... local computer guy sez hard-drive crashed from the power outage... OK, got a different computer, loaded lapmaster disc, program loads, but then it sez "No comport signal, do you want to start in emulation mode?" (????) Is there Anyone that can help a guy out here? spent 200$ & 4 hours, had to cancel Friday nite races..

You just need to change the com port that it is reading from.

I tried plugging the usb cable from the lapmaster into all 4 different com-ports that there is on the back of the computer.. the wireless keyboard/mouse insert works on all of them... does anyone know if there's `sposed to be more lights on than just a single blinking light from inside the lapmaster box?

Hindsight: Is all of the cpu and lap counting plugged in to a SURGE PROTECTOR? No 'line AC' should be no different than turning the main breaker OFF.

You must change the port in the software itself.

THANK YOU!! for the support, guys... Carsten (THE MAN himself!!) called me up, & we got everything figured out, (Yup there's a com-port configuration in the software...) plus he showed me how to "fry it up & serve it 6 different ways" when it comes to having 6 lane track, & from 7 to 20+ racers, Check out "progressing heat race" for automatically setting up sit-outs, qualifying order, random vs. racer's lane choices & more... Learned a LOT today, once again, THANX Carsten... .... Steve

I just hope it's a decent turn-out, I'm trying my DAMNDEST to keep it SIMPLE, FUN, & Still have room for lots of "Racing ingenuity"...... we're having a 100% mdse. payback, plaques, refreshments, discount motel accomidations, & a WELL stocked parts counter, so hope to see you all here on the 31st.... not to mention that if you CAN'T FIND something DANGED FUN to do if you come for an extra day or two at the LAKE of the OZARKS, then you need to change your name to "Buzz McKill"......
