But Flash?
What have you been doing over there?
Let's hope that Scott can pull a couple of places better tomorrow.............
1/32 Eurosport
B Semi
1 - Paul Ciccarello - 367
2 - Paul Gawronski - 365
3 - Phil Helmuth - 363
4 - Herman James - 356
5 - Paul Meiers - 340
6 - Fred Hood - 336
7 - Rich R - 317
8 - Ron Van Wagnen - 311
9 - Joe Carr - 302
10 - Steve Fowle - 219
A Semi
1 - Roy Hood - 358
2 - Alan Ohren - 347
3 - Lou Pirro - 345
4 - Gugu - 343
5 - Tim Weigand - 338
6 - Greg Gilbert - 320
7 - Paul Kassens - 316
8 - Chris Radisich - 293
9 - Jay Kisling - 13
A real heartbreaker as TQ Greg Gilbert appeared to have the car to take it all and was dominating the A Semi, when his pinion spun.
I had a great car that was fast last night, but I just drove like a geek and couldn't get in the groove. Chris Radisich was plagued with problems, and Jay Kisling dropped out after only 13 laps when he munched a gear. He had to change to a borrowed body at the last minute and it just didn't handle, so he pulled out when the gear got munched.
1/32 Eurosport Main Event
1 - Phil Helmuth - 625
2 - Paul Ciccarello - 620
3 - Paul Gawronski - 610
4 - Luis "Gugu" Bernadino - 595
5 - Roy Hood - 590
6 - Lou Pirro - 547
7 - Alan Ohren - 549
8 - Herman James - 361
Phil Helmuth pulls off an impressive win to take the USRA 1/32 Eurosport National Champ title, after just last November winning the ISRA World Championship title in the same class.
Herman James lead early in the race and looked like he might run away from the field, but disaster struck when he took a shot to the wall and broke an upright. After that, it was a very close and exciting battle between Phil, Paul C. and Paul G.
In the last two heats Phil had only a 2 lap lead over Chicky, but with Paul C. finishing on black and Phil on yellow, Phil was able to not only hold him off, but gain a few laps as well to take the win.

Zippity, the Kiwi Flash is Chris Radisich, who borrowed the 4-1/2-inch Nascar I raced in Amateur to run in the Expert 4-1/2 class. In fact, he set fastest lap in that race using the same hand-out motor I ran for two races! Not too shabby for a hand-out motor, eh?
Terry Kelly says he's going to propose a new rule next year to prevent cars from being handed-up from the Amateurs to the Experts. LOL!!
Way to go Greg (cheater) and of course the flying Kiwi Chris Rad.
I suppose it was fitted with those gold axles supplied from NZ.
Congrats guys and all the others a great effort.
Ron if the Scott pulls a couple of places better that would put him in 1st place plus plus as he is on poll.

The finish by the" flash " is great!...Congrats to You, Tony, and the old 'Tross for a great run in 41/2. You guys are keeping the spirit of Bullet alive and well. Wish we were there. Oh...and ask John Martin if James can borrow a 4 1/2 car.....lmoa.
Ask him if I can borrow his big red truck.
Is this live coverage or are we getting the tape delayed version? How about Amateur GT1 results and today's coverage.
Thanks
Paul
Gill, I started the quarter-final with one of those gold axles but got a hand-job that bent the axle and a rear wheel. I replaced it with a "normal" axle someone handed me and finished the class with that.Originally posted by Gill A

Thanks to you and Rusty for the kind words. As I posted to BillyBob, I wish you guys were here.
"I wish you guys were here"
Me too, hopefully in the not too distant future, only trouble is I will be older, I need to be there now at the prime of my youth.
Good luck to you and all the others.
Paul, great photo coverage as usual! What's the story(if there is one) behind the mangled turbo-flex shown in photo #88?

The mangled car was the remains of a former Nats Championship winning chassis of Michael Kelly's, after playing "Chicken" on the tri-oval track.
A group of the young Florida racers and friends were messing around during a break in the action, and were running cars in opposite directions on the big tri-oval track playing "Chicken" - often with rather destructive results. I think Michael helped embellish the results by hand to produce the piece of art pictured.

I've fallen a ways behind in the OWH's "Almost Alive" coverage due to several excuses...
The Amateur Group 10 NASCAR race on Friday became quite a marathon, and with the Quarter Finals just wrapping up at 5:00 AM Sat morning, since neither of my teammates had made the move-up, we decided to leave and get a few hours of much needed sleep. When I returned, the race result sheets from the Am Gp 10 race were not to be found.
So... between taking pictures, thrashing, racing, turn marshalling, race directing, and BSing with old friends, etc., it has been difficult to catch up, but I will do my best to resurect the race results and get caught up today. I am still trying to decide whether to race 1/24 Eurosport today, or to drop out so that I can keep up on the coverage. My driving has definately suffered by trying to do too much, so I probably should save the money and frustration of trying to race, but I do love to drive Eurosports, so it is hard to restrain myself. Lee Gilbert still has a half a dozen or more cars to finish building for today's race, however, so I may be much better off sticking to the reporting.
Stay tuned and don't touch that dial, as I get busy compiling race results, and get them posted ASAP.....
